my thoughts exactly.
and shams, i never really thought of that before. i'm kinda wondering why they haven't announced a date for japan yet. sales in japan are lacking, and (unlike what most people here think) nintendo wants to avoid a price cut like the scurvy, and will probably just keep trying to release convincing hardware/software to try to help keep demand in japan from getting lower. |
I have no real idea what they have coming up in Japan. I can only guess that they expected Animal Crossing (and maybe WiiMusic) to still be in the top#10.
Japan is ultracompetitive, mainly thanks to MS/360. Ninty just need to release some bundles, etc.
...
Knowing Ninty, they will just wait this out until the end of the FY (end March) - and then in April you'll see announcements, maybe some bundles and actually some movement for the Wii.
The other point, is with sales so strong in Europe/US at the moment (and until last week, the Wii was *still* outselling the PS3 or 360 in Japan) - maybe they just dont care... too much.
Obvious candidates I can see for Japan are: Mario Party 9 (surely in development), some RPGs (Golden Sun/Fire Emblem), Pokemon RPG, WiiSports:Resort, MH3, FF:CC...
