Right so im childish for blaming Sony even though im sure the expected life of the Ps3 is a hell of a lot longer then 1 year.. and this is the second time with the same problem..

MS didn't plan on the 360 breaking nor wanted it too so does that mean that people who got RROD are wrong to blame them?

I guess I am naïve for expecting Sony to correct their mistake.

You figure a company that's in the state that sony is in would want to keep their customers happy for repeat business..

The Difference there is that 30% of the consoles RROD. Im sure if that went out before Launch a lot of people would have refrained from even buying a 360. The fact that MS rushed out the 360 and put faulty hardware on the market yeah they are to blame no doubt about it.

Sony has a less than 1% fail rate. Yours died after the warranty was up and that sucks but its no one's fault just life and maybe yours for having such bad luck ;p

Black Women Are The Most Beautiful Women On The Planet.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

if sony had a defective rate of 33%...i think sony would do the same...but when ur one of the .2%...i dont think that matters too much...especially when ur out of warranty...if your ps3 broke during warranty..they would have gladly fixed it for you...go back to a car dealer and ask them to fix then engine after ur warranty runs out..same thing...ask MS to fix the RROD after the 3 years warranty...they wont fix it...u can add me to the list of people calling you childish and naive too if you want...but that is what you are in my eyes..

You seem to be very angry, and trying to blame someone for an unfortunate circumstance.  That's why people are calling you childish.

Things break. Especially if they have  moving parts .  It happens.  And as for keeping customers happy...  Well how long would you like them to have it under warranty?  3 years? 10 years? Forever?  That would add alot of $$ to that already high price tag.  Remember it's a business, they're here to make money...not give it away.

How's this...

I bought a PSP-3000 right around X-mas..

I had it for 32 days. At that time the backlight on the LCD screen went out on me. The unit still worked although you could barely make out stuff on the screen but still hear everything ok.

I only really use it at home so it's not getting banged around/dropped/etc. It was 2 days past when I could return it to Gamestop for an exchange. So I figure no big deal...it has 1year warranty from Sony. I file a service report, get my box, and mail it off. Then just this Friday I get an email saying they don't cover the LCD screen under their 1 year warranty and that it'll run me $89 to fix. I have to call them and get them to mail it back because there is no way in hell I'm paying $90 to fix something that's barely a month old.

Yay!!

Completed X360:
High Def Movie Collection

That sucks, yeah.

But even though people are right when they say "that's what the contract said"... do you think if my PS3 broke and I called Sony and said "I work for a big website and have a reviewer's copy of one of your games here" they'd fix it for free?

Can you prove it was a manufacturing defect (i.e. didn't break due to age, it broke due to poor construction)? If so, your country's law may allow you to get a refund or repair despite it being out of warranty.

@kabhold

I was upset at first yeah but I wasn't angry until I said my ps3 broke and was immediately called childish and naïve and told I didn't take care of it by 4 different people on here..

Its like im wrong for expected sony to repair it regardless of the warranty seeing as its only 2 weeks out..
