Name a better shooter than KZ2 this gen.

Uncharted is heavily based on shooting for large parts. It is a TPS, aswell as a TPA.

Since this is a duplicate thread, I've got nothing new to contribute except:

Control wise, most shooters are better than KZ2. If you mean overall though, CoD4, Halo 3 (especially online multiplayer),  The Orange Box and Bioshock are ahead of KZ2.

Aside from perhaps CoD4, all of those games have a much better single player story and KZ2 doesn't beat Bioshock and the orange box (talking HL2 and episodes) for atmosphere, which is KZ2's trump card, the atmosphere it creates (which is often mistaken on here for awesome graphics, visual filters may make the game look more gritty but it doesn't increase the polygon count or texture resolution).

As for online multiplayer, KZ2 doesn't beat any of them (except for perhaps bioshock...).

It may sound like I'm bashing KZ2 here, it is a wonderful game, but undeserving of the title of best FPS this generation by a long shot.

And uncharted < Gears 2 in every aspect EXCEPT story (it's B-grade adventure movie VS no story). I feel that Uncharted 2 will probably best Gears 2 IF they tweak the controls and improve AI (both of which they've said they'll do).

I can name a few better shooters off the top of my head

COD4
Bioshock
Orange Box (Half Life 2 Part)

and I didn't mention any exclusives either, so this doesn't turn into a flame war. KZ2 may look fantastic, but that does not mean it's the best FPS this gen.

None of those shooters come close.

I never said that KZ2 was the best shooter this generation because it looked good. The gameplay and atmopshere of the game is astounding, as are the controls. KZ2 is what all shooters should feel like.

While there are serious problems with using aggregate review scores to compare games across platforms, the PS3 and XBox 360 are such similar platforms with similar expectations that many of these problems are not that evident. With that said, if Killzone 2 is the "Best FPS of this generation" then why do Call of Duty 4, Bioshock, and Halo 3 have higher aggregate review scores? If Uncharted is the best third person shooter why are Gears of War and Gears of War 2 such higher reviewed games?

Even if you assume that you're correct and these do represent the best exclusive games list at the moment, there is still 3 to 4 years left on this generation and (at its peak) the PS2 had 2 to 5 high quality exclusive titles released every month which would translate to 75 to 250 high quality exclusive could still be released to a platform before this generation ends; and (realistically) this platform would not be the PS3 with its mediocre sales.

The PS3 reminds me of the N64.. Trust me that's a good thing. A console that wasn't the leader that had some of the very best games of the generation. I guess the perception around it too..

That said I prefer the Wii's list of exclusive games. Nothing against the other platforms but I feel like they truly are exclusive in that you can't find experiences like them on the other consoles.
