Forums - Sony - PSP line up: outstanding but late.

As we all know by now PSP is getting an hell of a line-up for 09 with motorstorm, little big planet, a new monster hunter, assassins creed and rockband. Let's ignore the unannounced games because those also exist for the DS and we don't know what to expect.

So, all of these are good games on their respectiv platformse so we can expect/hope that it maintain the quality.

But there's a question: Is it too little to late?

The DS already took the flag for portable gaming market some years ago, is it possible for PSP to compete with it again? Even with big titles can "crushed" console make a come back?

Although the psp is getting a phenomenal line-up , its a case of too little too late. The J man doesnt know if your talking about sales or perceived quality of games but in both cases the ds would still come out on top. The ds with a slow release of games is still selling like its chrismas.

Nintendo just know how to run the handheld industry.......

N64 is the ONLY console of the fifth generation!!!

it is a little too late. not only that, but i can tell you in terms of sales each of those games will be cut in half because of piracy.

i wish people wouldnt steal =/

Yeah but this line-up is just awesome guys...

The DS will have an hell of a hard job to match this as things are now!

^^but your forgetting that the psp has far too much catching up to do still with the ds.

Yeah but you forget that there is a rumoured PSP in the works with slide design.

The would turn out sexy :B

Nintendo has always managed to make a comeback when all else has failed, it has yet to be seen if sony can, but we will have to wait and see

hello how are you.

My gaming habbits are a little less hardcore than the average VGChartz forum member but I am much more excitied about the announced 2009 DSL line up than the PSP line up.  I'm also excited about several DSi games, but I don't plan on getting a DSi this year.

And you are right.  The PSP line up looks better this year than last.  LittleBigPlanet PSP gets my especially excited.

Sales wise nothing changes.

From perspective of games. M&L RPG 3 and Gyakuten Kenji beats all announced games on PSP this year _at least for me_. From recently announced games only LBP appeals to me, but my guess it won't be released this year. Might get Parasite Eve 3 and looking forward to FFXIII Agito, but... the same, PE3 might not be released this year outside Japan, FFXIII Agito won't be released this year for sure.

Good line-up anyway, but how long it'll take to finally release those games?

The best games for a system tend to arrive later in the life span. PS2s first 3 years were good but not phenomenal. Though the PS2 is a fading star in it's 8th year it wasn't too late for Persona 4 or Yakuza 2,Kingdom Hears Re:Chain of Memories and a few other awesome titles. It's never too late to release outstanding games especially when the hardware side is still doing well.
