Popular television animation hasn't been worth a damn since the early 70s when Disney and Warner were still doing everything in the US by hand. Even then, Hannah Barbara was still pumping out crap so not everything was quality.

 

 Gonna have to disagree with you on that one. I can sit down and watch alot of those cartoons from the late 80's early 90's and still find them enjoyable(without rose coloured glasses) . Hell there are still a few good cartoons out there but not at the same level that it use to be. There was more uniqueness to the shows back then. Each show for the most part had a different art style and great characters. I take a look at some of the shit today and it's just plain garbage.

the reason i said "back in the day" is cause those shows are not on anymore :(

Sit down, and judge the animation. Judge the story. Is it compelling (like in batman?)? If it is a comic show, do you still apreciate the humor? I watched the Animaniacs yesterday and I still laughed. Pinky and the brain are still awesome...

In that way I can still enjoy some cartoons from these Days. Danny Phantom. Jimmy neutron and Fairly odd parents for instance...

Older cartoons are better. Johnny Bravo gets some very serious laughs out of me instead of just a few chuckles actually, and Batman was always enjoyable, and I won't even go into Tom&Jerry, best cartoon by FAR (except TMNT). There's just such amazing animation back in the day. Nowadays I can't watch 5 minutes of any of their day time shows without feeling most of my brain cells screaming in pain.

The 3 cartoons you listed only show me how HORRIBLE your tatse in animation is. Ben 10 has to be the biggest pile of shit to grace TV screen in a LOOONG time. The only reason Grim Advantures is passable is due to some very decent black humor, too bad that just flies over your head....

 

Edit: NEVER FORGET DUCKTALES!!!! I haven't watched it in YEARS and I can still sing and humm the beginning song.pa pa pa pa pa pa paaaa paa paa.
