Yea, give us an SSX build for the balance board. I want to ride!

I notice this quote to:
EA also discusses the world of music games, which they believe is a genre that is here to stay. You can read more about that at the link below.
So, maybe we are looking at "Rails Band", the first musical instrument game, set on rails!
Wait, I got it! EA is going to publish...
Skyscraper II: Need More Crotch Door!
And it will be on rails!
Well that's not really that huge a number.
I mean... don't only 1 out of every 5 games worked on reach it's release date?

All the original, high-quality titles are not coming to the Wii - that is why I'm complaining. I want to see Wii titles that are *built* for the console - not part of some multi-skew development series. The *only* originals I can see are: - BoomBlox (cute idea, but its really a 'simple' party game - nothing more - and it feels cheap) - EA Sports Active (i.e. WiiFit cash-in - and WiiFit will do me thanks). ...where is everything else? GodFather II? Mass Effect? Dragon Age? Saboteur? Fight Night 4 (still NOT a Wii title!) Brutal Legend? Dantes Inferno? C&C/Red Alert? (now *that would be an awesome Wii title - and where is it?) I'll tell you what - its an absolute joke. Wii is the milking platform, and all the original, big budget titles (from big budget developers) arrive on every other console (PC, PS3, 360) - yet not the Wii. ... I have 26 Wii titles sitting on my shelves (just counted), including a few from a friend. There are ZERO EA titles there. I have titles from just about every other publisher - but NONE from EA. The only EA title I am looking forward to, is the new Harry Potter... and I can just see them doing a job and ruining it. Oh yeah - I had the last one - and its the only Wii title I sold :P As far as I am concerned, EA can get f***ed. They couldn't give a rats about the Wii, other than seeing it as easy money - which it won't be, because they are not giving us what we really want. See EA - 26 purchases - and ZERO from you. |
whats to your surprise? since the n64, nintendos third party support has sucked. This is the Wii's third year, and nothing will change. Your best off with a wii60 honestly.
Given the Gamasutra article makes the quote read slightly differently:
But the company isn't giving up. "We have this year 20 to 25 SKUs coming out on the Wii," said the COO. "They are not ports, they are all products that are developed directly for the Wii."
http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=22492
So we've probably named them all.
And the cross-company collaboration is Nintendo and EA -- it does not take genius to figure that out reading the quotes (and especially since Gamasutra spells it out better).
These may not all be what everyone here likes. But if a a company decided to release two dozen titles for a single platform, you can't get too upset. After all, how many companies, outside of Nintendo and shovelware folks, have two dozen Wii games in their total catalogs.

I'd say its about average support in terms of personal quality. Of course it's great support in quantity, I just wouldn't like many of the games.
"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

The surprise is EA coming out, with a "Wii is the best, Wii is our focus, we love the Wii, all other platforms are irrelevant" (etc).
Pack of complete lies.
Nothing else - I don't buy EA games anyway, and that isn't likely to change.
How about a Fight Night? Or even a Burnout? The PS2 had Burnout - is it that *insane* to bring it to the Wii as well? How about Wii version of "Black"?
...
IMO, they have just completely misunderstood the Wii's userbase - and continue to do so. Good luck to them.
