Aksys Localizing A New Jake Hunter Game

By Spencer . February 26, 2009 . 8:33am

Jake Hunter: Detective Chronicles didn’t start the Tantei Jinguuji Saburo series on the right foot. Stories were cut from the Japanese version and the localization left a lot to be desired. Moves like this could end a series prematurely, but according to Nintendo’s spring 2009 lineup Aksys isn’t giving up on Jake Hunter yet.

Jake Hunter Detective Chronicles: Memories of the Past is slated to come out on May 26 on the Nintendo DS. Since the game hasn’t been announced officially we’re not sure which Tantei Jinguuji Saburo DS game it is. It could be Tantei Jinguuji Saburo: Kienai Kokoro which came out last year or Tantei Jinguuji Saburo: Fuserareta Shinjitsu which comes out in Japan this March.

I was curious about the first game, but the Metacritic score disappointed me a bit.

It needs a lot of promo, because not too much people knows anything about that game, I have watched here for first time.

Hmm, that metacritic page is troubling. Not so much the score, but the fact that most of the reviews state that the story is quite poor........while many of those same reviewers gave a good score to Hotel Dusk (which is an excellent game btw). Hopefully it's not as bad as it looks like it's going to be........I've become fond of these novel type games.
