Forums - Sales - THQ news - de Blob sells over 700,000

Good to hear, I still have to get out there and take the plunge on it too, but I do have to say the $50 comment was rather off as I've seen it for less some places for sure

“When I was 5 years old, my mom always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down “happy.” They told me I didn’t understand the assignment and I told them they didn’t understand life." - author unknown

I think the $50 comment means that they haven't dropped the MSRP themselves yet. The retailers are still free to do so themselves.

Nintendo never drops the MSRP on their games, but you'll still occasionally see a retailer offer a limited time $40 deal. Amazon seems to do it the most.

It seems that it is very slightly undertracked, but not by any significant amount. Or there actually are 120k in the channels, but I doubt it.

Anyway, must've made a good profit for THQ - and good to hear the support is keeping on coming

What now? How is it unreasonable for the Wii with the largest current generation shelf space to have 120k on shelves. If anything I'd say that a little on the low side.

That's not valid - the Wii also has more games to go on the shelves than the PS3 or 360, so the extra shelf space isn't really going to mean that there's heaps of copies on shelves. And keep in mind that this game is doing about 10k a week, so 120k is nearly 3 months of stock. Seems unlikely.

But as I said, not undertracked by any significant amount

580k sold through is probably a little low so I'd say slightly undertracked.

At any rate while 700k may not seem impressive compared to some HD game sales, as THQ says - it's profitable thanks to Wii's low development cost and not at all bad for a new IP which new gameplay. De Blob has a future!

U don't think 700k is profitalble for a Wii game?

Yeah ur right, he never said that my bad. But reading it again, it seems that's what THQ is implying then.
