Forums - Sales - Dragon Quest IX was delayed into 2008...DS hardware implications?

I think they will release Q2 2008 during golden week in Japan. That way they get better than expected sales because of the Holidays and probably more DSes will be available because there is more time to make them and because Japan receives more DSes during that week.

hopefully it will give the DS a good long push in Q1 08 and keep it's weekly sales over 200K for around a month or 2

I think Square wants to break record's of fastest and most selling game in japan ever. i'm not kidding i think they could do it. That's why i have to agree with tk1797. they will probably release it in the golden week. The userbase will be bigger at that time, sells are really skyrocketing in this particular week. And the DQ remakes have released then to hype the people but also to pull in the last DQ (sony) fans in Japan (If there stil are any that haven't got a ds).

It's probably better off in 08. This year will be a great wave of success for the DS and next year is guaranteed to be another killer with DQ9 waiting.
