Its made by Bungie, so of course the game will be good.
I laugh at people who say the xbox 360's 2008 lineup is crap. Its going to be quite good. If I have a 360 by the time Halo Wars comes out, I will probably get it.

Ensemble Studio is responsible for this game! Not Bungie, I think it's a wise choice considering Ensemble Studio's has all the experience with strategy games. And it's looks awesome! I'm not much of a Halo fan but this is a Halo game I look forward too.

Huh. That's too bad. See Bungie has some incredible experience with the genre too. Myth 1&2 are two of the greatest games ever made (in my delusional opinion). They completely reinvented the genre by making things Real Time Tactics. None of this mining Ore and building Units crap. Everything was about tactics. how you organized your units and engaged the terrain. Thats why I was so pumped for Halo Wars. Knowing it's not Bungie makes me a little sad. It'll still be awesome of course, just not "Stof's Awesome"

I remember an interview from Bungie that Halo 3 will be their last Halo game for now (yeah right Halo 4 will be out before you know it hehe). They just pointed out that their next game will not be a Halo game, perhaps a new Myth game is in the works?

You're just trying to get my hopes up so I'll cry when they announce Oni 2!

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

As a huge Myth fan, my heart fluttered when I heard Bungie was making Halo Wars. Then it sank a little when I found out it wasn't a Myth style RTT (real time tactics) game. To me, nothing has come close to Myth. I don't want to have to build new units all the time. I want to make due with the units I get.

I'm sure it'll still be an awesome game, I'm just sad that it won't be the game that I want.

If it makes you feel any better, I'll give you a forum high-five for being a Myth fan. :)

And if you ever get the urge to chuck incredibly unpredictable grenades at mindless undead, the guys at this site have been keeping Myth current for modern computer systems:

It might as well be that platform game starring an italian guy they were talking about when Miyamoto offended them lol. But to stay on topic, I can imagine this game will rock, I bet people from Bungie worked behind the scenes with this game as well to make sure it's worthy of the name Halo.

Back on topic, I watched that video. I was ready to call the game a failure when I saw the Warthogs engaging infantry with machine guns. Then he finally ran them over and I felt reassured. ;)

The presentation looks very nice, for the most part. I don't like the way units seem to just sit down and shoot at each other. It makes the combat look kinda boring. Having them seek cover or maneuver for position like in Battle for Middle Earth would be nice. Though I suppose it might make unit selection kinda tricky, which brings me to my final point.

The UI looks kinda clumsy. I can tell they're trying to streamline it, the circle menu is quite good. RTSes are just one of those genres which is served very well by having a mouse, and I think if I played the game as it was demoed I'd spend a lot of time wishing I had one. Hopefully they'll find some tricks to smooth the interface out before release.

You know its a demo so they are bound to work on those things

With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.

Good Lord. You are upset that Ensemble Studios is making the game? If anything, Ensemble is about the BEST RTS producer out there.

They friggin' made the Age of Empires series. Have you NOT played AOE?

They've also been responsible for making Star Wars Galactic Battleground, and a few other smaller RTSes. They are very capible of making fantastic RTS games.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Cool that they're the same people that made Age of Empires, I still play AOE2 and it's expansion from time to time. . .too bad Microsoft dropped it from MSN Zone (I think they dropped all disk based games from Zone) for multiplayer.

Too bad it's only on the 360 right now and not the PC as well, otherwise I'd be more excited for it.
