Usually they/we don't, but occasionally we do.

Say they sell 1 mill at the end of March in Europe (on day 1). That makes about 800k in the US, maybe 400k in Japan - and 1 mill in Europe (units sold in 2007 - not total). Total 2.2mill sold in the first qrt of 2007 (and including a launch in Europe). Out of 4mill shipped. That is a lot of unsold consoles piling up in retailers and warehouses... Your numbers are completely flawed .The correct ones are 1.05 million consoles end january for NA and some 620K for Japan end January .End february numbers would be around 1.3 and 700K ,and for end march they will be at 1.5 million and 850K in Japan ...add the 1 million for Europe and you have some 3.35 million sold ....X360 arrived at 4.5 million by september only to remember you .Besides ,if they mass produce they will lower costs by perfecting the development process and having more % of success in the making of components and consoles .
No - yours are. As stated, I was counting JANUARY sales only - not sales from 2006. If you want to include 2006, add another couple of mill to the production figures.

Sony's production is most likely focused on Europe at this point since it looks like Japan won't need to be restocked for a few months. :)
