Last night I decided to watch the Kill Point on Spike TV. I was pleased to see that it was going to have limited commercial interruptions thanks to two corporate sponsors. One was for a movie called Death Sentence. The second was EA. Be mindful when it comes to commercial time I like to go channel surfing. However I tried not to miss the game footage that EA was putting out. After a few of these three minute commercials I caught something. All the games being shown were promoting the 360 version of the games. There was the logo and the game box. There was however no PS3, PS2, Wii logo anywhere to be seen. Were I a uninformed consumer I would assume that Madden 08 was only to be found on the Xbox 360 console. Perhaps I missed the adds for other platforms but I saw perhaps seven or eight of these adds. Curious did anyone else see this campaign? Has this same campaign been run during other high profile shows in this case it was a two hour long series finale. Has EA been running any other console specific campaigns for the other platforms? I would assume that this is a partnership between Microsoft and EA. Otherwise EA would have included the other platform logos. I thought it was important to highlight this particular add campaign from a third party developer, because it seems that it was promoting one platform exclusively. Would be interesting to see if this campaign is going to be a prevalent feature over the next few months. By the way the add campaign was wonderful. Electronic Arts did a fantastic job.
