Forums - General - Im the devil, I love Metal!

Sharky, I've noticed that there are pretty much no metalcore lovers here.

And breaking benjamin, uh no not metal. I once had a friend who begged me for 3 weeks to come to a breaking benjamin show with him. I caved and went. Worst band I've ever seen live. It wasn't just that I don't like the music. I've never seen a band so lacking in anything resembling passion.

Mushroomhead!!!

I don't like Metallica people don't get that, they assume that because I like metal that I instinctively like metallica. Who here ever gets that because you don't like music that people assume you should?

metallica is a bunch of pathetic sellouts, no offense to those who like them.

heh, I'm starting to realize I'm a huge music snob.

Exactly, they write very poppy thrash metal... if that is even possible. They write the songs for the masses, I never get the same feeling from Metallica than I do from other thrash metal bands, it doesn't seem angry or loud in the same way. And it's not just from 1991 onwards, I listen to some of their albums from the 1980's and it's pretty much the same feeling.

I went to a metallica gig (I rarely say no to any gig) about 5 years ago, half the people there looked like they had never been to a rock concert, let alone a metal one. They were not exactly inspiring live, I've seen better local bands, but everyone else loved them (but I reckon that was because they hadn't experienced many other gigs).

Never one that has played live lol

The only instrument I would feel semi-comfortable playing live is guitar. I can beat a drum in time and with rythym, but it would be shite live... I have never given base a real go.

But no, never been in a band that has made it to the point of playing live.

I have been in a band. We had no drummer or bassist, we broke up before we did lol. But we played free at a train station once for like 6 people. Does that count as playing live?

My dream is to really play live. Get some real fans(I play lead guitar). Anyone wanna start one? I live in NY, Just outside of NYC

Hey, a few people like metalcore. I mentioned AILD   Also love Zao, Underoath and Norma Jean, among others.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Underoath is more screamo then metalcore, and norma jean is what i like to call "noise metal" lol

No love for some Unearth, Machinemade god, I KIlled the Prom Queen, and Parkway Drive?
