8, 7, 5, 3, 2, and 1 apply to me.
Ah well, being hardcore is too much work, and is usually frowned upon in society.

There have been many heated discussions on the definition of a "casual gamer" in the last couple of years. I have done intense studies on the subject during this timeframe and today I present you the results.

8. You prefer local multiplayer over online gaming - Everyone knows that you'll find real competition only by playing online against hardcore gamers. If you rather like to play against friends in the same room (usually because they suck at games just like you), this is a sure sign that you are a casual gamer.

7. You buy non-games - Brain Training, Wii Fit and Nintendogs are the best examples. If you happen to own one of these or similar games, you are most likely a casual gamer.

6. You buy games based on sports/movie/TV licenses - Casual gamers like such games, because they don't require them to dive into the realm of true videogame worlds.

5. You buy easy games or games with easy difficulty settings - Real games like Ninja Gaiden and Contra aren't easy and they can kick your ass even on the lowest setting. If you like games that are easy to beat, you are probably casual.

4. You only own one current generation console - Not because you can't afford another, but because you are content with only a handful of games per year or even for the entire generation.

3. You have a social life - If videogames aren't the top priority in your life, you are a casual gamer.

2. You like minigames - Who doesn't? Well, true gamers. Minigames are for people who can't handle epic stories and deep gameplay.

1. You own a Wii - This one is self explanatory.

There are other indicators that someone is a casual gamer, these are just the top 8. Let's see what you can come up with.

These seem kind of limited in choice.  What if you do/prefer/have/etc. all of the above?  Would that make you a leet or something?

This will only take a moment of your time. *steals your watch*

Damnit Rol and you're non Kim Possible avatar, I almost thought this was a serious thread.

14: You don't have over 10 thousand posts on a video games sales forum. - Er...no.

13. You enjoy playing the Sims 2- Hate the Sims - zzzzz

12. You appreciate a good art style for a game, and/or are incapable of telling the difference between 720p and upscaled 640p. Bonus casual points if you can't tell the difference between that and 480p - Yes and no (having SDTV helps)

11. You buy games to have fun - Well - duh.

10. You own a lot of high selling games - Some. Many are not.

9. You own a lot of sequels - Just Brawl and Underworld.

8. You prefer local multiplayer over online gaming - Definately prefer to play with my kids/friends/girlfriend than some stranger online but I do play against my friend online too.

7. You buy non-games - Guilty of WiiFit and Endless Ocean

6. You buy games based on sports/movie/TV licenses - Sports yes.

5. You buy easy games or games with easy difficulty settings - Except for strategy games - yes.

4. You only own one current generation console - Sorta, my son has a 360 but I rarely use it.

3. You have a social life - Most of the time.

2. You like minigames - No! Well the Rabbids are okay and I guess Wii Sports and Wii Fit have mini-games and... damn it!

1. You own a Wii - Uh.. yes.

So... I guess that makes me the hardest of the hard core right? Right?! Ah well... leaves more time for girls.

#15 - You own a game which has neither a gun, nor a sword. Violence is the only path to hardcore.
