"SINE, COSINE, TANGENT!!!"

From what I've played, I think Sho Minanimoto from TWEWY was pretty insane

Pokey says as the battle begins that his mind was destroyed by his own power and he speaks in nothing but screaming sentence fragments during the time that he actually vocalizes anything. I'd say that that's pretty clearly more than "just someone who got too powerful and lost his body who wants to conquer the world".

I dunno.  Seems like it would be pretty hard to vocalize anything if you lose your body and you're fighting four psychic children trying to murder your soul.

I feel... H A P P Y...

It hurts..

...NESS NESS NESS NESS NES NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NES NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS

And...?

I'm having trouble imagining what fits the definition of insane if Giygas doesn't.

Like I said, it's interpretation.  People with different native languages or disabilities can say some very bizarre things as well but I don't label them as insane.  What was Giygas before he lost his body?  A powerful being trying to conquer the world?   What was left aftward?  A bizarre but powerful spirit.  Was Giygas insane or was it just incapable of conveying its thoughts properly after that?  It's certainly easier to simply say it was insane, but what if that wasn't quite the case?

I hate using dictionary definitions, but here:

in⋅sane
/ɪnˈseɪn/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [in-seyn] Show IPA Pronunciation
–adjective
1.     not sane; not of sound mind; mentally deranged.
2.     of, pertaining to, or characteristic of a person who is mentally deranged: insane actions; an insane asylum.
3.     utterly senseless: an insane plan.

It's stated in-game that Giygas has literally lost his mind. That he is reduced to a screaming face which further fragments as it is further damaged is only further evidence of something that's already clear. He's the All-Mighty Idiot, as Pokey puts it.

@g-value: Yes, I get that he wanted to fight Yuri so badly that he was willing to put the world at risk forr it. He was still a goofy villain. He's insane, but he doesn't measure up to Giygas.

I think you need a reality check.Zagi is insane

That dialog was painfully cheesy...

And he fell off a cliff which means he can come back.

Was it?  It's been years since I played Earthbound so I don't remember that.  I remember Pokey being a jerk at the end though.

If he did specifically say that then you win the argument.  Otherwise my comparison of Giygas to a disabled person stands.

I haven't played many RPG's so I really can't help with that, But if we were talking about any video game I would say half the bosses in "No More Heroes".

Giygas wins easily.

Let me check...

"Giygas cannot think rationally anymore, and he isn't even aware of what he's doing now. His own mind was destroyed by his incredible power. What an all-mighty idiot!"

And even then, a disabled person can be insane too, if we take "insane" to mean possessing mental schema which differ too far from the norm.
