I edited my post above to respond to that. You can't say, for a fact, that the PS3's lineup will always be worse because in 2008 you can objectively argue that it was better based on review scores. Reviews themselves are subjective, but the aggregate sites are the best objective measure of a game's quality. If you look at 85% and above reviews, the PS3 had the most in 2008.

I'm sorry. Why is the cut-off 85%?

The Xbox 360 had 8 "AAA" or "90%+" games in 2008 versus the PS3's 6.

Do you really want to make the argument about this?

*sigh*

I already said that if you changed the cut-off the winner changes. You're not paying attention.

The point is that the PS3 arguably had the best lineup last year, so that makes it even more absurd of an attack to say that the PS3 will inevitably have an inferior lineup of games...which, again, is exactly what you said.

Windbane you already proved my point when you successfully pointed out that line-up quality is inherently subjective. Of course it is inevitable some people will never believe the PS3 has the strongest line-up of games.

Yes, subjective.  Therefore, you can not say, for a fact, that it is inevitably worse.  Thank you for agreeing.  Next time, please phrase it better.

But that presumption began on the part of the PS3 fanboys ardently declaring it would be stupid to claim that the PS3 has anything other than an unassailable lineup.

Again, you are just applying a negative spin too whatever I say.

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

Around the Network

28 million+ 360 owners.

Online gaming more popular than ever.

a very high percentage of people own pc's or laptops hence defending your console is only a keyboard and a click away.

360 fans are becoming more visable simply because the fan base is getting bigger and bigger.

So its obvious your gonna notice more pro 360/anti ps3 threads.

They are HD consoles in direct competition.

Theres always tonnes of ps3 threads.

So maybe 360 fans think ps3 fans have become worse than ever on this site too.

you know "best games coming to ps3 2009"

psn is better than xbl

killzone 2 thread 327,934

Blah blah blah

Perhaps it is just me but I've noticed a trend of 360 fanboys becoming more vocal and annoying on this site and it's getting disgusting. It will come as no surprise to anyone that I'm a fan of my PS3 and that I enjoy it more then my other consoles but at the same time, I love my 360, wii, PSP and DS. I love gaming. As such, I notice not only when people attack the PS3 but all consoles, but I will admit to noticing moreso when the ps3 and it's titles are attacked but I really think that its no longer the case. Going into threads about Halo Wars, while not free of trolling and fanboy comments, is nowhere near as bad as going into threads of Killzone 2.

I've noticed attacks on the PS3, and it's games getting very outrageous lately. IT really seems to me that 360 fans grasp at straws in feable attempts to put down the system and it's exclusives. For instance, things like a split second delay in response time on the demo of K2 has been blown out of proportion and sold by 360 fans as not only a reason to downplay the game but to claim that it is broken. Not only this but even the framerate of the game has been attacked as being horrendous. What's funny is that Gears of War 2 went below 24 FPS and could suffer screen tearing but I never saw PS3 fans attacking the game or making this big of a deal out of it. It's like 360 fans are fighting to make every inch they can stretch to a mile.

You will always have rabid fanboys attacking both systems and I'm not claiming that the PS3 is the only console being attacked, not by a long shot. That would be ignorant of me. But I find it funny that PS3 fans on this site have been labled as the loudest, most obnoxious fanboys when the 360 fans have been acting just as bad lately. This was the reason why DmeisterJ left the site supposedly, and while I don't think that was the appropriate response, I can certainly see where he is coming from.

Personally, while PS3 fans hype games loudly it seems like the 360 fans would much rather attack then actually love gaming. Which is worse? Hyping games that you love? Or attacking other peoples games? Which one is truely immature?

What do you think?

A long monologue clustered with likelyhood, opinioness, and other conjecturitis... it's like reading a womans' rant during that period of the month.

Fuck it, i'm going to the pub.

God i hate fanboys, almost as much as they hate facts

@ Pristine - did you read what I wrote and not just stop?

I am saying this - you liked the demo - I didn't. That's fine to disagree. When folks are attacked for their opinions, that's a problem. I am not talking about folks who just want to bash on Killzone 2. I just thought it was ok at best. I have played other FPS demos (I'll even say 'COD2') and really wanted the game after playing it. It just didn't do it for me. I don't have a hidden agenda, I don't need a new prescription - I just don't find it revolutionary as it was hyped to be. That's it.

Yet, if you sound off, say you weren't impressed, oh, you have problems.

That's all I am saying. I am not saying folks who liked - loved the demo are insane. Comeon ...

BTW: I am about games - not the hardware. You may think I am a 360bot or fanboy, but I am nowhere near one. Oh, I've blessed out MS for my 360 RRODing twice, scratching my Assassin's Creed and the like.

We are gamers - and we have our likes and dislike. I like rumble with my games. I prefer LIVE to PSN. I enjoy the controls on the 360 because I've had it longer. I had two PS3s - and paid for both of them. I do use my PS3 more lately, but it still has to prove it deserves my attention more than my 360. Right now, it's not making a strong case to be my lead console.

No, I'm saying that saying that the PS3 will never have a comparable lineup (which is what you said) is just as bad as saying the PS3 will always have the best.

I'm saying that you are just as bad as the fanboys you described in the very sentence you criticize them in.  Or, as Solid_Raiden put it, the same breath.

Show me an instance where folks create 6-7 threads about said game and hype it into a coma. Show me an instance where 360 fanboys are just downright rabid.

Halo 3 and Gears.

How many for both? And what kind of heat do you get if you have played the games and don't like them? Not talking about trolling, but seriously, played the games and weren't impressed?

Show me an instance where simply saying you don't like KZ2 gets you attacked.  The things said about the game are ridiculous, not based on informed opinions.

I honestly stopped after that line at first because that was pretty offensive. I guess it was just bad wording? Seriously, like I said before, if someone is pissed because they paid $600 for a ps3 because they thought a god was making the games on it, I say it serves them right. Unrealistic expectations always lead to diappointment. People hyped killzone 2, no big deal. However, the important thing is what impression YOU conjure in your mind based on the hype. i expected a great fps with a great multiplayer that'll finally take the place of my cod4, for that, I'm happy with kz2.

If you on the other hand started to think the game gave out free diamonds or something equally ridiculous, why on earth won't you be disappointed? Hype is a mind game.

Also, the whole idea of "sony bots" not used to losing is as inaccurate as it gets. Many people who had ps2s and were sony bots last gen have wiis and/or 360s now just by inferring from personal experience and sales. In the same vein, some of the biggest ps3 fans even on this site (leo-j comes to mind) never even had ps2s. He had a GC instead so should have been used to losing? See the fallacy of that comment?

From what I've observed, the most attacks on the ps3 seem to come from:

1. people who can't afford it (mostly bitter ps2 owners)

2. people who got hyped out and purchased one thinking diamonds were inside

3. people who were lifelong xbots, nintybees who were mad that sony walked all over last two gens

4. people who already hated it but bought one so their comments on the internet could be seen as valid
