I honestly stopped after that line at first because that was pretty offensive. I guess it was just bad wording? Seriously, like I said before, if someone is pissed because they paid $600 for a ps3 because they thought a god was making the games on it, I say it serves them right. Unrealistic expectations always lead to diappointment. People hyped killzone 2, no big deal. However, the important thing is what impression YOU conjure in your mind based on the hype. i expected a great fps with a great multiplayer that'll finally take the place of my cod4, for that, I'm happy with kz2.
If you on the other hand started to think the game gave out free diamonds or something equally ridiculous, why on earth won't you be disappointed? Hype is a mind game.
Also, the whole idea of "sony bots" not used to losing is as inaccurate as it gets. Many people who had ps2s and were sony bots last gen have wiis and/or 360s now just by inferring from personal experience and sales. In the same vein, some of the biggest ps3 fans even on this site (leo-j comes to mind) never even had ps2s. He had a GC instead so should have been used to losing? See the fallacy of that comment?
From what I've observed, the most attacks on the ps3 seem to come from:
1. people who can't afford it (mostly bitter ps2 owners)
2. people who got hyped out and purchased one thinking diamonds were inside
3. people who were lifelong xbots, nintybees who were mad that sony walked all over last two gens
4. people who already hated it but bought one so their comments on the internet could be seen as valid

I'll be honest - I read most posts, even from folks I think have hidden agendas, to give folks the benefit of the doubt.
Based on the threads and E3 vid, I wasn't sure what to expect. I went into the demo with an open mind, just like I do every game. And thought it was good, just not as great as folks had talked it up as. Everyone has an opinion - and I know you are a reasonable poster. You try to see things from the other side before going in with both guns blazing (even though you didn't read all of my post). However, most folks have an idea in their mind and tune out everything else. They'd miss a lot of info doing that.
As far as attacks, 360 bots aren't mad at the games or even the console but the annoying hype. Were you on the site when folks were talking about 'Sony domination starts ...' phrase? When it didn't happen, they'd reset it and start it again. I know I lol'd when folks would say it. After a while, 360 bots ran with it. It was major funny.
Sure, you have folks who didn't own a PS2, can't afford it, but it doesn't make sense to bash something you want and can't have - just yet. I want a Porsche Carerra GT. I want a Ferrari F50. I want a Maybach. And have a huge crush on Halle Berry, Angelina Jolie and Sarah Palin - but I won't bash them unless they are messin' up.
A lot of folks have realistic expectations about the PS3. Most PS3 owners don't. They have said on this site they bought the console for 1 game and were disappointed. Some say they bought it for the flood of JRPGs and RPGs that haven't showed up.
Someone earlier said PS3 types have thin skin. I agree. I could care less about someone talking about my consoles, talking bad about my Jeep Commander or the like - shoot, even call me a joke of a journalist. I could care less because I know the truth and their words don't affect me, or don't affect me for long.

Frankly, I do like listening to people's opinions. Thats why I use sites like this. Howver, I dislike arguments that have no merit liken a thread came up about how people were disappointed in R2 and Zenfoldorvgi posted that the game sucked. Even though I agreed with him as I said it wasn't all that myself, I had to chastise his post because he never played the game in his life to form an opinion. I'd respect your opinion on the kz2 demo even though I don't think demo's are always an accurate representation of the full game. Why? You played it.
I'm yet to get a good explanation as to why hype is annoying especially when you can choose to skip the threads? Kind of like what I did to your post when I first read it. Especially when a game is on a console you don't have and don't plan to ever buy, why would you be looking into the threads in the first place? If you don't browse those threads, there won't be any need to get angry, it's not rocket science.
As for the ps2 owners history, you may want to look into zenfoldorvgi history. He's one of the popular posters on this site and the perfect posterchild for ps2 owners who hate the ps3 because they think it's too expensive. I think he even posted that he thinks the ps3 will still come second at the end of the gen when all is ironed out which I as a ps fan don't even think. Yes, there are many people who hate what they can't have. Just watch some of those crime shows, many people have killed their girlfriends/wives for leaving them.
If you ask me, the so called ps3 owners who have unrealistic expectations about it are mostly the same one who think owning it give them the right to post pointless gibberish about it. Using the term "most" is pretty heavy especially when you have no IDs to back it up. Lastly, hyping something =/= having unrealistic expectations. like I said, it's in your mind.
As for the thin skin comment. Well, some people have thin skins. These people range from ps3 owners to wii owners to non gamers. I do defend the ps3 a lot on this site, it's not because I'm dying over internet posts because anonymous internet posters are the least of my worries; I just argue against BS when I'm bored and don't currently feel like having bouts of SFIV with my cousin.
