Well I agree that GOW III wont do much too boost sales of the PS3. I mean unless Microsoft and Epic have a massive falling out, it will be exclusive to the Xbox 360 like GOW and GOW II.

Ok, answering serious. Its serious Squilliam, Starcraft.
Gears Of War could almost be called the "Halo" of the Xbox 360 when you consider how early it came in the consoles life and how important it was to the system.
God of War came later in the life of the PS3 and the last one only sold 2.44 Million so I would say the franchise name lacks the scope to be assumed to be a system seller. However theres always a small chance that the 3rd game itself will be so good it increases the value of the franchise AND sells systems.
On the face of it I will have to give it to GOW as the bigger system seller.

In the spirit of continuing the seriousness that has pervaded this thread since it's inception, I'd like to agree with everything you said.
GOW truly is the bigger system seller of the two.

I personally think God of War has done more for PS2 than God of War 3 will do for PS3 though.

Um, GOW II was a PS2 exclusive. I'm assuming you meant GOW 2.
