There's alot of free MMORPGs out there for PC.  What if those free MMORPG were available for download on console?

Ok, there's the belief that MMORPG don't go together with console.  I find this very true myself as well, but let's take a moment to think about this.  If it's free wouldn't you try it out at least once?  You have nothing to lose.  Another thing is that if one console got exclusive free MMORPG over the other.  Do you think it'll give them advantage?  This is how I think of the situation.  There are some MMO players who have consoles, but they'll have friends who dont have console that only play the same MMO together.  People with console will dl and play it.  If the MMORPG was good enough, then they'll likely tell their friends to buy the console to play together.  Which will help out the sale of the console.  I don't think it'll help too much, but if the MMORPG gets popular enough, who knows what can happen.

Those are just my thought.  I just wanted to know how everyone else feels about free MMORPG on consoles.

Why would (Sony) want people buying their console, then downloading somebody else's free MMORPG and not buying their actual games?

That said, Sony is developping a couple of disc based ones - No monthly payment required.

i'm guessing you haven't played one free MMORPG. They're not completely free. Free to play and what not, but if you want certain items and advantages, you would have to pay. Items are self explanatory. Advantages i'm talking about is such thing as double experience, certain features of game, etc. Sony can make money if they do it right, but i dont see that happening.

I know what you are saying, but your question was, "What if those free MMORPG were available for download on console?" Answer: Because Sony doens't make them, therefore Sony won't be getting any money.

And buying "advantages" along with in-game advertising is what Sony plans to do for these PS3 games to avoid a monthly payment.

i think your missing my point, or i left out something. I'm talking about when the console manufacturing companies are involved together with free MMORPG. It's the only way they're going to be able to play on those consoles anyways.

I did mention being exclusive to one console over another too.

I also never mentioned being exclusive to Sony either.

i already am playing a mmorpg on a console and its ff11, on the 360 and i love it. started playing it on the ps2 back in march of 04, then moved to 360. now as for free mmorpg's on a console i would give it a chance and if it was good enough to hold my interest i would get my friends to try the game so we could play it together.
