Forums - Microsoft - Red Xbox 360 will have matching ‘red ring of death’

Mine was working for about 2 weeks before giving me a perma-rrod. According the repair site, it's now fixed and on the way back (less than two days to repair).

Sometimes you get the pre-RROD. Basically your system will give a RROD and then work again in the future temporarily, only to RROD again. I think it has something to do with things melting and heatsinks but I don't know *shrugs*. Mine almost lasted three years without a RROD before I purchased a Elite Falcon.

It's just that simple.

I think the red box should have a white ring of death, the opposite of having a white box and red rings

I completely agree this is a 100% bullshit article but it's a news article nonetheless so I don't think I'll lock it (yet).  If you feel he's wrong or some horribly biased fanboy (which he is), then point out why the author is an idiot.

I honestly don't get how the title of this thread (as well as the linked article) have anything to do with the question you are asking about temporary RROD's. Lock please!

That article doesn't even prove new box has RROD issues. I don't like xbox but this thread and that article is just plain stupid. My suggestion would be to kill yourself with your bricked console.

Oh gosh, here we go again.
