Alex Burton was a real worker for sure.

IMHO the worst game ever is Chrono Cross. Big Rigs is a bad game indeed, but it is so easy to bash a game some dude made on the weekend with his buddies. It is like all those "reviews" on Youtube about nes games. It is easy to bash old and low budget games by today standards, but it takes balls to say a multi million dollar hiper-hyped game sucks.
Big Rigs still sucks but not into the 7 out of 1000 range when you consider the developers efforts.

no way, Chrono Cross was a very good game. 2 things that you cannot deny out Chrono Cross is that it had awesome music, and it was a long epic adventure with lots of extras including incentives to play through the game more than once and tons of secrets and unlockable characters. I loved many other things about the game too, but "worst game of all time" is rediculous.

funny thing is Chrono Cross is #64 on the list of top games of all time with an average of 92.6%. Obviously there is gonna be someone that defends nearly every game for some reason, but "worst games of all time" do not get rankings like 9.7 on IGN.

 It was one of the 4 games that GameSpot ever gave a score of 10, but I am afraid that scores does not save CC from being a piece of (edited for flamewar purposes). I do not know if you played Chrono Trigger, but I think anyone who did should understand my point. It would be a average game without the "Chrono" on it. The battlesystem was boring and uninspiring, history was rushed and the CT tie in forced. The music was nothing compared to CT (battle music was the worst). The 40+ characters had less background than Magus on CT. There was not any character development. Element system was useless (kindaq like GF in FF8). Elements had limited uses in battle and they dealed the same damage as normal attacks. Star levels and random stat improvement made the game more linear than any other RPG. The multiple endings were nothing compared to CT and  side quests were useless in most cases.

Of course the graphics were breath taking but that was all CC had. Have you ever though about why SE dropped Chrono series? The PSX had almost 2 times the Snes users and CC sold less than half of CT (a game that came out very late in Snes life). CC is the same material as FFXII and MGS2. Games that get insanely high score from magazines but get average and low scores on users reviews. All these games rely too much on franchise appeal.

Remember that I said IMHO in my post. Bettlejuice for nes or Superman64 are worse games than CC, but my point is that these games are not multi million dollar productions. Realizing that CC is crap hurts much more than realizing that a game like Big Riggs sucks.

Gamespot gave 10 to Chrono Trigger and not Chrono Cross.
