Forums - Website Topics - Suggestion: Reporting Posts in Locked Topics

See title.

Is this feasible? Sometimes some really heinous posts are left floating in obscurity in the middle of locked topics too huge to be combed through easily, especially in topics where moderator presence is demonstrably low.

This isn't a comment on the effectiveness of the mods, they do a fine job, I was just wondering if it's feasible to report posts in a topic that's been shut down.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

That's true I guess

But I would assume that people who made frivolous reports would be banned.

No, you get saddos who get proven wrong about something in a current thread and get angry searching members posts or months back looking for stuff to report, often reporting posts out of context and the mods don't sit and read a thread that can be multiple pages long and 6 months old so end up giving warnings for it when they shouldn't.

See above.

Looking at a timestamp on the post being reported would solve most of that problem.

That's how I got banned last year.

which in that case was pretty funny

Wait, seriously? That's gross negligence on the part of the mod who handed out the banning.

Or it's indicative of the idea that there's no statute of limitations on this sort of thing.

Reporting posts in locked threads is taking reporting to a whole new level, an unnesacery one at that.

Locked threads as well as in the replies in them have no relevance unless some one necro posts (which I understand to be against the rules) , if anyone has issues with posts that are no longer relevant then they should really get some more sunlight.
