Street Fighter IV. I've logged more hours on Street Fighter IV over the past week than I've logged on Brawl since it launched last year.

That's your loss.

No you THINK it's my loss. Brawl isn't as good as SFIV in my eyes. If you feel differently that's fine.

I think you're taking my statement a little too hard.

Any time someone buys a game that they don't full enjoy I consider it a loss.  Street Fighter IV is immaterial as far as that goes.  I've had hours and hours of enjoyment with Brawl and I would wish that anyone else with the game have the same.

As for Brawl vs Street Fighter IV, I haven't commented on that in any post above because I don't have an opinion.  I haven't played Street Fighter IV so I can't have an opinion.  I might eventually but not yet.

The only thing that bothers me in this thread are all the people who are insulting Brawl and saying it lacks depth because after playing it for so long I know first-hand just how deep it can be.  The difference between someone who is skilled and someone who isn't is staggering.  The problem is that most people can't see it.  They haven't played at a competitive level so they can't see it.  The timing, the spacing, and the approach of someone who is great at Brawl are great fun for me to watch but most people in this thread probably couldn't tell the difference between a good and a bad approach.

Any game that wants you to press 3 buttons at once to do a move is worse than Brawl.

Street Fighter II HD is better than Brawl, though it's not better than Melee, certainly.

As for SF IV, I haven't played it.

@Mise

Valid point but it isn't always true. I've played a good two thousand matches between Virtua Fighter 4 & 5 and I'm still learning new techniques which is immensely rewarding and enjoyable. The moves are mostly short and simple (the most complex move that I use is >>>O) however there are dozens of techniques such as evasive-throw escapes and reversals that wouldn't really make sense to over simplify. Doing so would in my opinion damage the depth offered by the series.

That is like asking whether I think Metal Gear Solid or Legend of Zelda is a better action game in my opinion. They are too different!

Zelda.

I think it's pretty hard to compare these two games as they're radically different style-wise.

With that said, my vote would go for Smash Brothers. Street Fighter may be the classic 2-d fighter, but Smash Brothers wins (imo) on sheer fun factor and general wackiness.

Is MGS even considered an action game? Zelda destroys it in that regard (imo of course)...

The boxart of MGS4 defines itself as "Tactical Espionage Action."

Played soul calibur 4 at a friends house... It seems like it's slowed down drastically... And too many BRIGHT environments... =_= Annoys my eyes. Brawl by far cuz I've been playing it since launch =/
