Like everyone said already I hope they don't rush the game. I'll gladly wait and let the GoW team do what they've always done, than tarnish their name with an unfinished product.

I am willing to bet Santa Monica studios have been developing God of War 3 longer than we think.

They could have started on the game right after GoW 2 was released, but just never said a word or thing about it. So thats a long time of developing.

Recall that Killzone 2 was listed in the 2008 press release last year, guys...

Ofcourse they started working on it immediately after releasing GoWII. :P

In fact, they were working on concepts and scenario designs before GoWII was even finished!

Most studios working on PS3 games started development on their PS3 engines on the PC, and then switched over to PS3 devkits when they showed up about a year and a half before the release of the PS3. The same is true of just about every console.

GoW3 could have been in development since before GoW2 launched.

I'm not sure about initial devkits, but final devkits only went out 1-2 months before launch.

But none of that matters, seeing as God of War II released five months after the ps3 was released.  :P

On the back of the instruction manual for GoW 2, they teased a PS3 GOW was coming soon. Apparently it is not soon since GoW 2 came out like what 3 years ago. Could be a hint the game has been in the works for quite a while.

Just because they just revealed new info does not mean they just started working on it.

I just finished playing GOW 2 again the other day and I have the manual right in front of me now.

It has the GOW symbol and inside it says "PSP playstation portable" and under it says "Coming 2007"

I have the Greatest Hits version. It came with two discs and on the back of the manual it says coming soon to PS3 with the God of War logo.
