Gran Turismo 5 would be SCEJ not SCEA. Thats why it is not there.

I'm not sure, Quantic Dream is based in Paris, so I would have thought that would be SCEE, hopefully there will be a PS blog post about this

God of War III in America, Gran Turismo 5 in Europe, and Final Fantasy XIII in Japan would be an unbeatable lineup for the 2009 holiday if current release dates hold true. Of course, this isn't counting Uncharted 2 or Ratchet & Clank Future 2 which are both heavy hitters in their own rights. Furthermore, if Sony manages to drop the PS3's price by $100 in every region this holiday, then they could pull a Microsoft and completely turn the current tide of this generation.

Also considering Microsoft's remarkably weak current and potential 2009 lineup and the fact that 360 is getting ever closer to market saturation with little room left for price-cuts (Only $100 to spend over 2-3 years) I have a feeling that we'll be seeing another slew of "Micro$oft iz d00med" threads this time next year.

If GOW3, MAG, and Heavy Rain all do manage to release this year, that is a pretty stacked line-up.

If Uncharted 2, infamous comes out as well this year that will be a very strong PS3 line up coming from just the first and second party. I cannot see all of those games releasing this year with the main reason being that they will have nothing big for next year and those games will takes sales away from each other.

GOW III and MAG for 2010 with some more games like Team ICO's game being announced for next year . Almost forgot about the big one from Sony which is GT5, Sony will make sure that one releases with absolutely no competition so my guess is soon after E3 this year or spring 2010.

Nothing big for next year?  lulz

Next year we'll see Resistance 3, either GT5 or GoWIII (one will probably hit this year, and one next - though possibly both next), Eat Sleep Play's Twisted Metal (though it might be a PSN title ala Warhawk and Socom), probably something new from Evolution and Sony Liverpool, and - most importantly of all - Trico!

MAG, Uncharted, and Ratchet & Clank will be their holiday line up for this year, and Heavy Rain will probably hit around Q3 (it was originally slated for Fall 2008, after all).  InFamous is still set for May.

So this year Killzone 2, GOW III or GT5 (just when do you see those releasing this year?), Insomniac game, MAG, Infamous, Heavy Rain and Uncharted.

Next year another Insomniac game, GOW III or GT5, Team ICO's tras....sorry game, Jaffes game and probably a full Wipeout game.

As you can see if all those games did release in 2009 the next year would be considerable weaker, if all those games do release this year then many PS3 games have not yet been announced for next year. GT5 is much bigger than GOW III so that one will probably release next year just so it has hog all the limelight.

Also you are right about the games from SCEJ not being in there which makes it even harder to me to think all those games will release this year.

In terms of having good sales this year Sony should release Gt5 this xmas along with a price cut that would help alot.

WipEout HD is the only WipEout we'll be getting for awhile.  Liverpool is working on something else. =)

And you forgot Evolution.  And I forgot Syphon Filter ps3.

So:

Killzone
InFamous
Heavy Rain
Uncharted
Ratchet & Clank
White Knight
Demon's Souls

vs

Twisted Metal
Syphon Filter
Resistance
Possible projects from Liverpool, Evolution, and the other dozens of studios Sony employs.
Trico!!1!!

With GoW and GT5 being maybes (if one hit this year, it would be over the holidays, with the other hitting in Spring).

It doens't seem that unblanaced to me.  It's at worst 5 vs 7, with quite a few projects as of yet not announced.

And you have to figure, 2009 is looking to be Sony's strongest line up in years.  Sure, 2010 could be weaker (more like WILL be weaker), but it'd still trump 2006 and 2007.

Edit:

And I doubt SCEJ is only working on Trico and GT5.

Don't get him started on Ico, dude.

Now I want to replay Ico and Shadow of the Colossus.

But I'm currently replaying God of War I/I AND Twilight Princess.  And I'll probably be getting Killzone 2 either tomorrow or Saturday.

Noez.  Too many games.  =(

If it does go to 5 vs 7 GT5 will be for 2010 then simply because that game accounts for 3 huge games. Your assuming Bend are making a PS3 game as are the other studios which will make it for next year, I do not see that.

And at this time last year studios like Zipper were MIA. People couldn't possibly conceive what they were working on.  The same is happening again.

Twisted Metal was confirmed in Twisted Metal: Head On for PSP, and a Syphon Filter for ps3 was accidentally leaked a week or so back:

It's a given it's coming, and since Sony Bend haven't worked on much since 2006, 2010 seems like a good target.

@ MM, Sony Bend have been making the Syphon Filter games and now Resistance Retribution for the PSP, unless I am much mistaken
