Final Fantasy XII
1. FFVII (Every "legit" FF fan I talk to seems to hate this game)
2. GTA IV (Probably cause it was my first GTA)
3. Final Fantasy XII
4. .hack//GU Trilogy
5. Dirge of Cerberus: FFVII
I kind of rudely interrupt everyone who talks bad about FFXII, while they are minding their own business.
That said, there are easily as many people who love the game as those who hate it, especially among people who have actually played it.
Let's see....
I really like the Turok games, and I thought Evolution was pretty entertaining (really).
I remember enjoying that crappy sidescroller starring that Olympics mascot who was an anthropomorphic torch. Anybody remember that? Back on the Genesis?
I unashamedly adore Wii Sports.
I'm not sure I have other games that are hated. I guess some people don't like Dragon Quest!?

Good call with Turok. The original is one of my favourite games of all time, but I'm biased because I was a huge dinosaur nerd when I was a kid.

Me too, man. Me too. Dinosaurs are where it is at. And shooting at a fire-breathing T-Rex with eye lasers, using a rocket launcher that shoots four rockets?
That was way too awesome.
Here's five games that I've enjoyed over the years that seem to be hated for one reason or another.
1. Cruis'n Series (N64): Yep, even World and Exotica. Interestingly enough, I never enjoyed the Gran Turismo games on the PS1 at the time. Hmm...
2. Sonic & the Secret Rings (Wii): Some hated the control scheme, but I really thought it was a step in the right direction. It wasn't perfect, but some of those levels were made of pure awesome-sauce.
3. Altered Beast (Genesis): I dunno. I was young, maybe I was foolish... but being a were-dragon/bear/tiger/wolf/etc. was pretty darn awesome. "Power Up!"
4. Star Wars: Bounty Hunter (GCN): You're Jengo Fett. Not much more to it than that.
5. Rayman Raving Rabbids (Wii): Sitting on the couch with your friends and making fools of yourselves was never so much fun.
Is Shadows of the Empire hated? Because that game was awesome.

I actually remember playing my Uncle's copy of Turok as a kid. That was an awesome game and some of the darker stages gave me chills.
Question though, are there really people who hate the series? Closest I ever met were ones who claim that the new one is better and how crappy the graphics on the N64 games look now.

Oh there are plenty who hate the series, mostly people who preferred Goldeneye back in the day and who prefer more popular FPSes now. I think there are more haters than fans, even, which is a big bummer.

1- Never played, never was into racing games that much anyway though.
2- Fully agreeable. I think making Sonic on rails is a good way to emphasize on the speedy element of Sonic. My only real complaint was that backtracking was a big no-no since the camera was placed so close to Sonic and there was no way to turn around.
3- Classic.
4- Wanted to play that as a kid, never got around to it though.
5- Even after playing it once about a year ago, yes, that's spot on.
