This sucks! an 8 from IGN is not what I wanted to see (8.5 or higher)

This game is just not good enough for my $60. This game is a big disappointment for me because the story and voice acting just isn't good.
I play JRPGs for story not for gameplay.

Good score if a little dissapointing. It could have been much better if they fixed the issues that the review pointed out.

Bah, honestly I'm getting fed up with this crap. People quickly forget western reviewers shun jrpgs, and they specially forget it when it comes to 360 exclusives. Take a look at this link, according to metacritic there were ONLY THREE AAA RPGS for the ps2. Just three. TL;DR? Persona 4, Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy XII. Everything else averaged below 90. By the way, Shin Megami Tensei 3/Nocturne scored below 85 - and many people consider it the ultimate ps2 jrpg.

Current-gen game collection uploaded on the profile, full of win and good games; also most of my PC games. Lucasfilm Games/LucasArts 1982-2008 (Requiescat In Pace).

Guess I'll stick to Lost Odyssey and hope I can find a sale on Vesperia someday. Oh well.

It's just that simple.

@Trollion

Vesperia is at 83%.Not a big deal, but w/e.

I'll just continue with Chrono Trigger and Dragon Quest 5. 45min scenes with poor story and presentation is just bad. There are plenty of other JRPG's for me to play.

Holy cow o_0

 I had only read the written review. I just watched the video review and wow, I can't wait for the 24th ^_^

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

@Destiny
we were arguing based on Meta which is what is commonly used on these forums, if you'd like me to do the math based on Gamerankings I can, only take me a min.

...

People over-react. Tales of Vesperia got a 8.2 from them (same as LO) and a 83 Metacritic score - yet I have to see one negative thing written about the game other than being steriotypical.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Why use Metacritic over Gamerankings?

Doesn't Metacritic not filter reviews?

Why do people say the story is bad? IGN actually said the story is good, GI too. The pacing is problem. It´s good to point out the weaknesses, but undermine everything?
