just watched the live stream to the end - the big draw back of the game is the uber-generic story that seems like a collection of all anime stereotypes they could find ...

well gameplay still looked very fun and the graphics are awesome - the last dungeon and the last boss are damned tiring though

:D Sweet, the 24th can't come soon enough! So heres my question: By this point in the game...how would you rank SO in comparison to LO and ToV personally? If you've played them of course.



GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

I watched a little bit of the stream.  I watched the part where Reimi was nude and Edge was staring at her naked body and when Reimi realized that she was naked, she slapped Edge and called him a pervert.  I also watched the part where Edge snapped for reasons beyond my understanding as I don't know much japanese.  That scene contain Meracle crying and Edge being depressed.  I saw a little bit of Arumat also.

I only watched a bit of it.  At most, I watched about an hour of it.  Besides, it's not like story is the selling point for the game.

That's why.  GI were playing the English version.  English versions of JRPGs tend to have cringe worthy dialogue for reasons beyond our understanding.

 

Yeah the voices in SO3 were mediocre at best. Fayt wasn't too bad, but Cliff and Sophia were just awful.

I was talking about the dialogue spoken by the voices, not the voices themselves.  Good VA can't completely disguise bad writing.
