Forums - General - International Law?

US and UK motto's since 9/11 has been "Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges" (in times of war, the laws fall silent) in essence they dont care how many international laws they break, theyve broken so many laws theyve lost sight of what were fighting for, how do we preach the rule of law to the middle east when we throw it out the window in the name of counter-terrorism, is this justice now?

what do you think?

exactly my point

What were we fighting for again? I didn't catch it the first time. All I could hear was the endless inane rhetoric followed by me turning off my television.

Aww for crying out loud, i figured everyone would have already guessed by this point that law is a tool freely used by the powerful to achieve their goals.

Going into the middle east was about getting access to oil. Enforcing the law was only a cheap excuse to do so.

Remember this well, justice is achievable only as far as it doesn't get in the way of this worlds most important people and countries.

If i lose access to this profile as well....I'm done with this site.....You've been warned!!.....whoever you are...

Happy Wii60 user. Me and my family are a perfect example of where hardcore meets casual and together mutate into something awesome.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

that is not justice

yeah I agree, just turn on the tv and listen to the killers and criminals that talk about peace and how can we achieve it, makes u laugh................. or cry.

The problem with international law is that it is very hard to police, and very hard to punish law breakers. Especially when the nations involved happen to be some of the most powerful nations in the world.

The fact of the matter is that most countries have in the past, or will in the future, break international law. International laws have about as much effect on a country's policies as an ASBO on a youth-criminal (I couldn't think of the proper term).

I always like when someone states something without ever bringing up any fact.

Show some binding international laws the US and UK have broken.
