wtf is project A8?//and nice tribute to your favorite PS2 JRPG//I would do the same for FFX.
you kept me guessing through the whole thing , just to come to a game i never heard of.
IMO sidequests rule ! rewarding or not , it takes you away from the main story which can be a relief .
Oh I remember Atelier Iris!//it's a really truly underrated JRPG that was developed by a Japanese developer Gust//completely and seriously underrated series and developer. They came out with 7 or 8 sequels to this series//all failed to reach the charts I think.
I have all 3 US Atelier Iris games, and the new "sequel", Mana Khemia. eBay rules.
Haven't really started them yet, though (played a little bit of the 1st, before I went and scored the other three). You're telling me its awesome, eh?
I'm still working on Xenosaga III... someone tell me its worth it. Xenosaga II was fricking hard -- I'm kinda glad its over.
can i get this at amazon?? it look interesting , am collecting ps2 rpgs, am guessing the quality of RPGs peaked last gen and we are seen crap now, so i got my every ps2 rpg i can get and am around 20 by now (hummm... i have to update my game collection)

Yup, the opening movie I posted says "Atelier series brand 8.0", but if you actually start the game and watch the intro, it says "Project A8". By the way, the song in the opening movie is called "Schwarzweiss", that's blackwhite for those who don't know German. I love the faible the Japanese have for the German language. The money in the AI games is called "Cole" which could be interpreted as "Kohle", a slang word for money. Then there are items like "Dunkelhite" (Dunkelheit = darkness). The names of the playable characters of Atelier Iris 2 are especially funny. The hero is called Felt (Feld = field), his childhood friend's name is Viese (Wiese = meadow) and another playable character is called Noin (neun = nine). Then there are places in the game with weird names like Regenbogen (rainbow) and Riesevelt (Riesenwelt = huge world). |
true, i think they did some german in xeno saga too

Hey Listen!
I saw an Artelier Iris game in my local eb for like $10 preowned. I debated with myself whether or not to get it...then I didn't cos I knew nothing about the game.
