After Gabe and Tycho's Q&A, they introduced Uwe Boll to talk about his upcoming Postal movie.

Now, I agree his movie's are freakin' terrible...but he does enjoy what he does, and these gamers just rip him to shreds...clearing out the room, and those that stay boo and hiss. Pretty bad reaction from the gamer community if you ask me.

Not that I condone Boll's movies, but they're not really harming anybody...you can just...NOT watch his movies.  Is it possible to feel bad for Uwe Boll?  Apparently...it would suck to stand in front of that many people who apparently actually hate you as a person...

No, actually he does hurt people. Hundreds, if not thousands, of innocent men and women have in good faith gone to see or rented movies of his without knowing of his reputation. Not one of them will ever be the same again.

The guy is an ahole who kind of deserved it but more than anything else, I'm pissed off at the people that keep hiring this guy to make the movies. Look at his track record. Almost all his movies go on "worst movies of <insert year>" lists and yet he keeps getting jobs. I guess they enjoy not having to front the money since he gets his own investors. I'm just glad that only the "B" games ever use him because nobody owning an A title or better is stupid enough to use the guy.

I disagree Ben. It's his fault. People obviously DON'T like his movies. Kotakyu constantly bashes him, David Jaffe says to his face "I don't want you making a GoW movie" and people were cheering more for the people bashing Boll, then Boll himself, not to mention people leaving in flocks. Man nheeds to wake up and smell the coffee. People do not like his movies, but he keeps saying "That's your opinion" and "Some people like my movies". If an entire room is clearing out when you showed parts of your movie, maybe it's not them, it's you.

He just needs to get kicked out of the movie industry.

I'd prefer Uwe Boll to leave the industry immediately as well, and he's pretty ignorant by not listening to what gamers want...but it was still harsh.

 He gets funding for his movies straight from investors in Germany who get massive tax breaks from it and dont care if he makes no money, thats why he can stay in business.

While it seems mean, I wouldn't say it was harsh. I feel it was just. If it was once, Ok, he's done it twice. A little hazy. Now, he's had people tell him to his face, and over the internet, that his movie suck, and people don't want him to make them. If this was any other director, then it would be harsh. But that fact that Boll can't get it though his stinking head makes it just. He brought this onto himself. He didn't listen to critics and fans, and their pissed. That's his doing.

Ouch! I think the guy is a jerk, but he is a professional(I know, I know) appearing at a convention and deserves some common courtesy. Cut the fool some slack; looking back in history, it's apparently almost impossible to make decent movies based off of games. :)
