now that is undisputed, then everyones happy and it would show they care more about what the users want rather than continuing the tradition they have which may put many people off the game

if they release it in a patch im def buying re5 but for now im not gonna be buying just because of that reason
same here, i would like to think they will because the demo was still enjoyable but otherwise i will find a better use for my money

ok now that we r agreed back to the original question ^^^
lol we did kind of get there , towards the end,
my opinion, no if anything kz2 will knock re5 sales down a bit, unless they release a patch so that you can move and shoot at the same time then it will b 50/50
im off now im tired ill reply to ppl in the morning if it concerns me.

@ dsister44
I stand by my original prediction. I think the COMBINED sales of RE5 will outsell K2. I'm not sure if the PS3 version will beat K2 but I think RE5 will be a big hit on 360 especially since it offers a co-op experience which does very well on Live (Gears of War 1 and 2, Halo 3) so yes I think K2 could possibly impact the PS3 version of RE's numbers but the 360 version will make up the difference.
| BHR-3 said: no i don't think they will much either ones a tps and the other is a real good fps they both will attract different audiences if re5 does have poor sales it wont be b/c of kz it will be b/c the series is not wat it used to be |
That's bullshit, pardon my French. Most would agree that Resident Evil is one of the few series' that has gotten better over the years. Even if RE5 sucked ass, how would it be "not wat it used to be"? What is used to be when RE4 came out? The best game in the series.
Also, by a much more realistic and hurtful logic:
If Killzone 2 does have piss poor sales, it won't be due to the Resident Evil release, it will be because the game is on the Playstation 3, which has shown a trend of having piss-poor exclusive game sales compared to the Xbox 360 and Wii, time and time again.
Releasing this game against SFIV, RE5, no price cut, right after the holidays, was an ignorant decision. Were anyone with common sense amongst the marketing department at Sony, they would release the game during the summer drought, and accompany its release with a 50-100 dollar price cut, bundle, and new ad campaign. Sony has done nearly everything in their power to minimize the impact of this game.
Really, what is the best case scenerio for KZ2, sales wise? Beating MGS4? Legs? What? What kind of sales do you expect it to pull?
You guys should be proud that you have another AAAE in your library. However, there is no excuse for flaming RE5. Some people, like me, smart people, who have been playing games since probably before you were born, love the series, and nearly every game in it. If your flavor of the week Killzone 2 hype is threatened by it, go yell it out, but don't get on this forum and play like RE sucks. It's a time consuming trifle, that.
I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.
NO NO, NO NO NO.

yes but there r some people like me that cant play online so since neither of them have splitscreen people like me wont be getting them which i think will hurt there sales

Epic post and yes I agree with pretty much everything you said there. Why on earth Sony decided to release K2 in the current situation is beyond me.
I think both games offer different experiences and that people will buy both if they have the money to do so of course that is...if I had to choose it would be Killzone 2 for me...I did'nt like the RE5 Demo...sadly
