Forums - Nintendo - Best 100 Nintendo songs

I think Nintendo's video game music is fantastic. I've compiled my 100 favourite songs from games they've developed or publsihed, and uploaded them for anyone to listen to and appreciate.

Do you agree with my choices?

Funnily enough I was just looking up on youtube: "best snes music" before this.

Is the list just going to be Nintendo developed games or songs from other publishers/developers?

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."

Per bold: I searched "best nintendo music" on youtube and nothing came up. That's why I made this.

Only Nintendo (and Nintendo part-owned like Banjo-Kazooie and Golden Sun). Only because I haven't played many non-Nintendo games and wouldn't do justice to the selection. Plus it was hard enough getting it under 100 with just Nintendo.

Update: Another 20 songs added.

I can't really say whether I agree with your choices and chartings - it was just nice to listen to the songs while surfing the Internet.

It's a solid selection but I think it would have been better if you had done it as a simple list of 100 songs as opposed to a countdown, as everyone always finds issue with the placement of certain songs, considering that its bad enough that people will complain about things not being on the list in the first place. For example although I am aware of your less than positive opinion on the game, the absence of MP3's title screen saddens me...

I still listen to Killer Cutz (Killer Instinct) and Play It Loud Volume One quite frequently.

I think The Instinct from Killer Instinct is one of my all-time favorites. Aquatic Ambience from the DK Jamz (DKC1) soundtrack is awesome as well. The title theme to F-Zero is a classic.

Good selection although too light on the Nes themes and too heavy on the pokemons. And i agree with ZZetaAlec, where is MP 3 theme? And i sure hope Giygas battle is on the top 30. Very qood quality audio mate, commentable effort.

Hrm, I'm seeing a lack in Earthbound music in here. I mean, I'd expect at least Pollyanna. Eh, maybe the top 30 will have some. I shall wait :3

The Mother 3 Fan Translation is done! Everyone go get it right now! (Mother3.fobby.net)
