Forums - Sony - yakuza 3 gets 38/40 from famitsu.

"First impressions of Sega's open world mobster title, Yakuza 3, are in.  The title has scored 10, 10, 9 and 9 from Famitsu's panel of critics, for a combined score of 38/40.  This score is along the lines of how the previous titles in the series have fared.  Yakuza 2 for PS2 got a 38/40 as well, and last year's Yakuza Kenzan! scored a 37/40.

Sega is bound to be enthralled by the score - they've put millions into advertising the game, including tie-ups with resturants, tanning salons, and karaoke bars.  There is also a severely limited Yakuza PS3 hardware bundle due out as well.

Yakuza 3 is an action adventure title developed by Sega.  The title is due out next week in Japan, on February 26.  There is no western release presently planned."

good score but its from famitsu so maybe we should wait for more reviews. but im impressed with the advertising¡¡¡. lets hope it sells a lot.

That's good news, I have never played a Yakuza game myself, but hopefully this will move consoles in Japan

And 34/40 for Halo Wars in a japanes mag isn't that bad:)

Pity it only got 32 then....

@ undying, don't hold your breath, the game has not even been announced for release outside of Japan, which is its largest market by far

@ parasetic, yeah, I have little trust in them, they also gave TLR about 37, and that review is unmatched elsewhere in the world where it got mostly 7's

Doubt that Yakuza 3 probably won't sell very well outside of japan, especially if they again need 2 years time to localize it, and the X360 userbase in japan is probably still to small...

Sega is support Sony this gen and WII and forgetting about the 360.

But war... war never changes

32 of course
