Another article that I just wrote on my site and bringing it to you.  Basically discusses what are the five greatest defining features of the seventh generation.  Not just listing them but a full explanation and whatnot so I would like if ya read more than the big bolded stuff. I believe the Genesis was the first online console, although the SNES might've beat it to the punch.

Well I knew other consoles had abilities to go online or onling gaming services but nothing supported by the "mother" corporations.  Dreamcast was really the first to have it. 

But was only trying to mention some short histories for those not necessarily a long drawn out one which is why I didn't mention most of those.

But thanks for the response.  I think some might be surprised by my number 1 but glad you thought it was good.

A week ago I would have switched 1 and 2 around, but I've played alot of World of Goo since then, so I'm not sure anymore

One and two was difficult to decide.  To tell ya the truth I actually wrote both as the number 1 in the first draft and then only changed it in the final draft.  I think both though will go down as being the two big things of this generation.

Zucas I disagree with you on point two. Its not the motion sensing which really made the Wii even though many people focus on that aspect. Its the pointer itself which really made the console. With the pointer, the shape soon followed and it gave people a console which something like Wii-Fit was conceivable.

Motion is just an evolution on button mechanics, the pointer however was something which was revolutionary for a console.

Lastly, its what I expect from my idol!
