My take, for what it is worth. I, as probably most videogame people out there, have fond memories of Street Fighter in its various forums. I can't say I am hardcore into it. I didn't get into Street Fighter 3, and so on. I played them, but can't tell the nuances. I prefer Street Fighter over Mortal Kombat. I am so-so at playing. I set AI on easy and so on, and try to unlock stuff. Consider me a more casual player who has has had a long track record with videogames. Ok, onto my opinion:
1. Street Fighter FINALLY enters the world of polygons with a gorgeous game. It feels comfortable for me to pick up M. Bison again and play. It is fun, and almost all the time the polygons and 3D work. I look forward to see how Capcom and do revisions and tweaks on it.
2. I find the song "Indestructable", which is its theme song, is awesome. Not sure what the name is.
3. To repeat, the game is gorgeous.
4. For those returning, it has a solid comfort level.
5. The game seeks out people to play online, so one shouldn't be lacking for human opponents online.
So, to sum up, I don't want to overhype it. But would say anyone waiting for Street Fighter to finally enter the modern era, and get out of 2D Sprites, this is where it begins. My feeling is the game should also have legs to it also, with people 10 years or more from now, still be able to play it, and enjoy it.
Best fighter ever? I won't go there, but Street Fighter finally gets in the modern era with polygons. By the way, did I tell you the game is gorgeous?
