Forums - Nintendo - Disaster : DOC sales (UK)

Hrm. These numbers are interesting. They aren't TERRIBLE sales numbres, but they probably aren't enough to get this game into the US :(

How much does this game need to sell to warrant a US release anyway? It might sell 250k with Japan and Others eventually, would that be enough?

psh, it would be 20,001 if the game wasnt so expensive to import on ebay ~_~
20k would sound about right tho...

@Hephaestos

You can get the game for £15! http://www.amazon.co.uk/Disaster-Day-Of-Crisis-Wii/dp/B000FNJ0IK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1234878003&sr=8-1

How low do you expect it to get??

floptacular. It just kinda makes you wonder what Nintendo is keeping Monolith around for. Three games from them, all of them incredibly niche almost to the point of irrelevance

They are a good developer, but that doesn't seem to translate to the marketplace at all in their case

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Is this game still not coming to America?

@pimpcoop, lol

i dk man lol

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

My guesses have still stayed the same that the game became too expensive over the long, flawed development time and Ninty just decided to put it out under the radar in hopes it wouldn't cost them too much. Basically just get rid of it. Same as canceling it per se but this time you can hope to make some of it back at retail.

Anyways though I just hope it makes it to America but it seems doubtful

Shame that this game did not sell well, ive completed it last weekend and its a really good title, with loads of quality ideas (that use Wii mote extremely well) nice graphics and decent fast paced action. But if Monolith/Nintendo would've put more effort the game would be even better.

If it sells around 100k-150k LTD in Others this will be a decent result.

I'm surprised the game is selling so low in the UK, compared to France. But here in France we had some TV ads for Disaster back in october/november, it must have helped the game to find some customers.
