no i was preordering it for the xbox then she asked wat platform i wanted it for and i jokingly said ps3 and she said ok.i started to laugh she didnt even notice then she took my money and started to help the next customer.the next day my friend called me and told me they changed my preorder had been changed to halo wars for the 360 lol.it was supposedly on a completely different game.but as i said in my original post that i just thought it was kind of funny

So one of your reasons that you're tired of Gamestop is because you tried to trick a sales associate into making a mistake on purpose? Your original points are making less and less sense as time goes on.

number one was more about the bad customer support u would think that somebody that would worked at a game store would know to tell me that a game wasnt for a system.especially if she took my money.if u were in her shoes would u not tell them that the game doesnt come out for a system or would u put there money on another game

She probably just didn't know. How much proficiency do you think you're going to get out of anybody working anywhere that is getting paid $7 an hour? It's not like she's required to go to videogame knowledge courses to get the job.

My issue is that you have a problem with something your purposely tried to have happen. If your friend hadn't caught it, you'd be cursing Gamestop come release for their mistake when ultimately you caused it to happen.

Out of your three reasons, I've come to feel that 1.5 of your 3 reasons are your own fault, so basically you're as bad of a customer as Gamestop is a store.

ok first off i was never trying to get in a huge argument.and on #1 i would have noticed because i gradually pay off my preorder that night i put down $20 on it which i believe is the minimum(it was the $80 ce version)

2.they should have taken the game back(again i had the receipt)and they should not have accused me of swapping the discs

3.i know im not the only one who has suffered this fate but the original banjo is expensive and a deserved that code

and u never answered my question

I did answer your question. I said she probably didn't know anything about Halo Wars and your PS3 comment probably got her searching in the wrong area and she made a mistake. I'm not going to give them fault for making a mistake you assisted them in making purposely. It's your fault.

I started losing respect for Gamestop when they bought out Funcoland and started publishing Game Informer. From what I remember Funcoland was way better and had better trade in deals.

I never had a problem with GS except that they were selling a used FFX copy for 45 bucks (looked scratched too) so i was like fuck that, its more worth it buying a fresh copy for 50 bucks. My local GS has pretty nice employees.

I remember seeing used copy of Super Smash Bros Melee for 45 or 50 dollars about 3-4 months ago. I just laughed at the employees and was like what the hell that game was released back in 2001....

LOL Thats hillarious which reminds me i remember seeing wave race blue storm copy 2 years ago for full price after its launch back at 2001.

Except she couldn't have searched in the wrong area. There is only one SKU for Halo Wars in our system, and it only falls under the Xbox 360 "New Release" section.

Edit: Actually, there are two: one for the CE and one for the SE.  However, they still fall under the same section.

What I hate about my local Gamestop is how arrogant the guys who work there are. There's one guy who's the "The Comic Book Guy" of video games. No matter what I do, he acts like he's so much better than me. WTF? I can respect anyone who makes an honest living, but c'mon.........

And that's all I got to say about that.

I'll tell you what video store pwned gamestop. RHINO VIDEO GAMES!! THEY WERE ALWAYS FRIENDLY THERE!!!!!

You should flash your badge at him.........that ought to put him in his place!

Gamestop (or any store for that matter) are only as good as the employees that work there.

Sure they may have corporate policies that are shitty which a lot of other stores have as well.

Being said I enjoy my gamestop quite a bit. Just a few examples of the store near me:

1) At the Halo3 launch party they had a Guitar Hero tournament as well as a Halo 2 tournament at the CiCi's pizza next door. They gave away $20 gift cards to the winners and had free pizza as well.

2) At a Gears tourney (before Gears2 launch) a couple guys from Epic games came down and signed free posters and even came wearing the CoG armor and brought a lancer rifle for people to take pictures with.

3) At the actual Gears 2 launch they had a Gears 2 tourney. Winner got a gift card and a UT3 360 faceplate. A couple Epic employees were there with free stuff and brought some video clips to showoff. There was also a MS rep at the store who was giving away free stuff like notepads, lanyards, and other small stuff. They also had free energy drinks and food for people there.

This is all at a store in a small town about the size of 15,000. It's not a major metropolitan area at all.

I manage a different retail store and have hired two people from the Gamestop and both have been good employees. Maybe the store by me is an exception but as long as the service continues I'll continue spending my money there.
