No, I'll wait until reviews and first impressions are out. No matter how good the PR sounds, I think a game from a mediocre developer needs to be met with some doubt.

QFT and bolded for emphais.

Yeah, but the worst they can do is make an average FPS, which is more than can be said for all other Wii FPS's, right? :P

OT:  I never preorder things, although I'll likey get the first day.

No, they could do much worse than that. For example an unbalanced set of weapons (wouldn't be surprising since it's a developer with little experience on FPS games AFAIK), uninspired maps, a crappy single player campaign with bad AI, a laggy or unstable online experience. Just a few of the problems that a FPS game can have.

I'm not trying to put the game down in any way, what we've seen so far makes me hopeful it's a good game. However, ever since this game was announced I have had my doubts so I didn't let myself get too hyped about it.

Perhaps, but all they'd have to do to one-up all other Wii FPS currently available is have good graphics and a diverse multiplayer.  Not that that, of course, makes it good, but I'm desperate.

But yes, caution is probably a better path for this.

I'm not.

I'll probably pick it up either when it comes out or a few weeks later.

I never preorder games (I just don't have that sort of devotion), so I definitely won't be preordering this. My contribution of one preordered copy of The Conduit won't bring more third party support to the Wii. Buying a game just as a statement is the most lame thing anyone could do.

glad somebody said this.

If The conduit turns out to be crap (unlikely i think though), what's that telling HVS? You bring out mildly entertaining crap and people will buy it. That leads to IMAGINE CONDUITz!

I'll pre-order, but not until about 2 weeks before release at most.

It isn't a limited edition set with only a set number being made, the demand isn't gonna be of importance.

Main reason I pre-order games is that I get them delivered 1-4 days before release 99% of the time.

Which store/website do you pre-order at? I wouldn't mind taking 99% chance of playing the game a day or two early :)

Actually, there are two aspects to development; firstly, the amount of effort you feel the dev has put into the game and secondly the quality of the finished product. My pre-ordering of The counduit is just to show the appreciation of the effort the guys have put into this game and their general attitude towards the console.

Now, it may very well happen that the overall quality of the game turns out to be sub-par and in that case I'm sure the game will sell accordingly. So, I do not think there's any danger of "IMAGINE CONDUIT".

Personally I'll be happy with at least an average game which sells well enough so that other talented developers feel safe enough to develop for Wii.

I'm not.

I need my FPS fix!  In any event, my point is what I've seen so far seems to put The Conduit well above anything else like it (on the Wii).  I'm not proposing it's going to be awesome,  but it looks like it will do (finally).

Okami

To lavish praise upon this title, the assumption of a common plateau between player and game must be made.  I won't open my unworthy mouth.

Why not just upgrade your PC?

I think we can all safly say this game will not be a flop. This will be good since they been working on this game for almost 1 and a half now. They made this game from the ground up. From the engine to the controls. So preorder is the way to go!

Also, many people played it at Comic-Con. Only positive feedbacks. :)
