The main reason for damage before seemed to be that there simply wasn't enough room in the graphics for that, with the focus on graphics, AI, and framerate. Now with the PS3, the car details are so good, they evidently can spare any extra detail for damage.

That and Yamauchi is a perfectionist, if he can't do it right he would not do it.

Gran Turismo 5 + Home = Largest gaming community in history

Car guys are all about community, their are cars shows all around the world every day. Their are thousands of car clubs across the United states, from Corvettes and Vipers, to Evos and WRX's. Bringing Home and GT5 as close together as possible is the best thing Sony could have ever done for the series. If they bring their user created content to it it will help even more. This thing could go farther than just racing. I think people will be making up their own custom cars, thier will be GT car shows, real life car events will take place on GTTV, and much more. This game is truly B3YOND.

Anyway back to the forums world. This is just more great news, for the title. What else can people want from it now? Their is 16 player online, crash damage, more cars than ever (plus continus additions to the roster via PSN), GTTV, Home intergration, and it takes full advantage of PS3 1080p 60fps, we can probably also bet on weather effects. I really don't think it will be possible to top this game for racing. Thier is going to be absolutly no reason for a new GT game on the PS3 after this one. This game, singstar, and buzz are the first games I have ever seen and thought, that is it, they never have to make another one after that. I think Sony is right the future of gaming is mirco transactions. You by the core game and every month you can go in and get a ton of new content, and I would hope it is at a resonable price.

This is why the PS3 is worth every pennie of the cash you fork over for it. It is virtually the real world in your TV. It is one box to rule them all, it is the precious.

I doubt it will get the largest online community in history, or even close. WoW will still hold that crown and I'm betting at least 50% of the people who buy GT5 will not use it online.
