Forums - General - companies that the recesion can't touch.

usually little stuff that people don't mind splurging on even if they are laid off.

Like lipstick, cigs, alcohol, cookies, pr0n, etc. etc.

I read that lipstick is the most recessionproof industry ever.

Also I imagine stuff like medicine and family law, especially divorce lawyers. I never heard of a couple stay together because they couldn't afford to get divorced

any kind, really anything, even some porm company.

here are some examples:netflix, Amazon.

Amazon, like any other general retailer will be affected by the recession.

Not being able to afford divorce is a huge reason people stay together. You usualy have to sell of the house and split the profits. But in this housing economy, lots of people owe more on the house then what they could sell it for. Filing for divorce would basicly force you to file for bankruptcy.

Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.

schools, electricity/water companies, healthcare, the military...

Schools and the military are not companies.

They are organizations and I'd therefore take them along. Both have employees and both pay salary and for both you can say that they have a "product" to offer to the "market".

Yup, they lowered their expected profit for next year and then their stocks went way down.
