I was still under the impression that gamers bought consoles to play great games. GOW 3 is looking really good so far that trailer was full of win. As a 360 and Wii owner it is the first game in awhile that I am interested in that is on the ps3.

Who has said that GOW 3 is system seller? I have only read that It will be amazing game.

lol exactly if anyone has played GOW 1 and 2 yet doesn't own a PS3, then GOW3 is a very good reason for them to buy one, how will it end!!

I dought it'll be a big system seller, we'll have to wait a couple weeks before it's released to find that out

It's too hard to tell:

- GoW 1 and 2 didn't move HW cause they were released pretty late in the PS2 life.
- On the other hand, chain of olympus moved a little HW ...

I think that the third one will move some HW, but a price cut would move more of them.

Definately one of the games I would love to play. If the PS3 makes it to 199 in 2010 I just might pick one up.

I don't remember GoW 3 ever being hyped as a huge system seller..

but im sure there are some GoW fans that have yet to pick up a PS3 due to lack of interest..

Actually out of exsclusive games we have only seen ONE true system seller per system. MGS 4 for the PS3 and Halo 3 for the xbox 360. God of War itself won't be a system seller but a larger good library will be. The more high quality games in a library the more enticing the system is.

I bought my ps3 for GoW3 so it is a system seller..


and if GoW3 sells say... 2 million then that game pushed 2 million people to get ps3s for that game.

There are system sellers, but you'll find they aren't going to be games most likely. Check out Netflix for the Xbox 360 and perhaps the new Prime-time debuting sometime in Q2.

I bougth a PS3 mainly because of God of WAR 3. It was a system seller to me, so ...
And about the sales of the first two, this gen is moving more software than last. Take a look at the numbers and you´ll see that some games have almost the same amount of sales than gen with way less userbase. I´m expecting numbers above 4 mln for LTD, in the GoW3 case.
