$6000? That's $500 a month. I guess you must earn a lot, eh?

jeez - I thought I was mad buying 2 PS3, an extra wii, an X360 and a fifth DSL. Plus the software that's still only £2k (probably $2k with today's x rate!)

This year there will be 5 x DSi's to replace DSLs but they will be part xchange so £50 a pop.

Last year I spent ~$400 on a new pc, (for the first time in four years) and $10 on games.

Harrr!!

I'm just amazed how much i spent on the stuff.....anyone else close to the same boat? or how much did you rouphly spend.

I spent US$4320 on 198 games, so you're not alone.

I'll try and ballpark it. I got a 360 in September and I now have about 7 games for it, a few were used so that's about $600-700 for the 360. I bought a few Wii games, so maybe another $240.

Not bad I think, I'm a big gamer at heart but I have kids so don't play as much as I'd like which is good since I try and keeping spending down. :D

I spent under $400.

This year might be closer to $600. maybe.

I wish my family had money. :-/ I am the only one in my house that has a job! ugh!

I'm proud of you for stepping up and being the man,  Bacon.  You have my respect.

I hate to think what I spent. I bought a PS3, a slew of 360/PS3/Wii games, tons and tons of downloadable content (including useless 360/PS3 themes), and peripherals. As a matter of fact, I'm getting the hell out of this thread before I depress myself!

yall are crazy! i spent about $240 on 4 games last year and even felt guilty about it. how the hell do you spend $300 on psn???????????? WTH and people complain about the $50/year on xbox live!! sheesh

I spend about 800+$ a month on gaming so that's about 9500+ overall, though there is some small fluctuations month to month on my spending. My highest month was when I bought an arcade for 2000+, plus a few other games so it came out above 2.3 grand.

Honestly, that's getting into addiction territory. Even allowing for a $2000 PC purchase (and even that's not a great buy, since you can put together a really good PC for under $1000), that's still $4000 on gaming. That works out to something like 65+ games at $60 each! Seriously, how many hours a week are you spending on gaming?

Why not buy some games used? Or try Gamefly? There are tons of ways to acquire games without spending an arm and a leg.

Believe it or not, some people don't want to  learn or be bothered building their own PC's. I also prefer owning my games on launch day so gamefly etc wouldn't work in my case or for many others.

Wow that's insane. I've been gaming since Atari 2600 and think I've only dumped $6k to $7k on games total! Not including PC's of course, because I don't really play games on the PC and they have other uses too.
