Forums - Gaming - Article : Wada is leading Square-Enix's empire into decline!!

@Cloud

I'm sorry who proposed that theory without taking into account previous generation dominant install bases?

Somewhere along the way the decision was made to make FFXIII multi-platform. Whether or not this was right or wrong wasn't debated until you showed up.

The fact that I was making earlier was that should you make a game multi-platform that you greatly increase potential sales by releasing said game simultaneously, versus one platform gaining a timed-exclusivity period.

Case in question I do not find the decision to delay the PS3 release 'retarded' because you're obviously diminishing the potential sales of the 360 version and subsequently collective sales.

Considering COD4 and GTA IV are the top selling HD titles, and they're multiplatform, that doesn't make much sense :3 Each combined are over 11 mil, which is more than the top selling exclusive HD title which is Halo 3 at 9 mil.

COD4 and 5 is the only one that breaks the chain, mainly becuase of the difference in quality between it and COD3.

GTAIV sold less then GTA San Andreas

The fact is they are suppose to be selling a whole lot more becuase they are multiplatform.

GTA IV would've sold less than GTA: SA regardless. The game is at over 17 mil on the PS2. Say it remained PS3 exclusive, it wouldn't have sold that much as the PS3 didn't have 17 mil at the time and doesn't have attach rates that high.

Oh, becuase people wouldn't have bought a PS3 for the most popular game series ever? Riiiiiiiggghhht.

Userbase=/= Fanbase

Fans trump whatever the imediate userbase is because they go where their favorite game goes.

lol you honestly believe it would have sold 17 mil?

Honestly?

Not in its original MP form, no. Yet it is a well known fact that Exclusives try harder on utilizing their hardware. GTAIV would of had more content and been alot longer if it were. In this fact I believe it would have been a whole lot closer to 17million then it's MP release.

Maybe 15million.

This is really ridiculous.

Do you realise what you're suggesting? This is the same game which critics praised and heaped perfect scores on right? In what skerrick of sanity could you possibly believe that dedicated fans of the series have their reservations on the game purely based on the fact that it's released on multiple systems?
