you cannot call someone stupid for buying the system certain games were promised to be on. Promises are a spoken contract. Its the developers fault that they have been had.

and the article is pretty accurate for the most part.

@Calamity
what? did you just say SE shouldnt release games on PS3 BECAUSE of their standing in Japan????? PS3 is 3to1 to 360 in japan. There general rpg fanbase is much stronger with playstation,everyone knows this. it is down right foolish that they have yet to give the PS3 what iseen to be playstation's strongest genre. None of their HD games have done that well. Why the hell does SE keep preaching multiplatform but do the exact opposite of what actual success requires?

There is something going on in the background we dont know about and it is not boding well for gamers.

Too bad no promises were ever made.... and it was just fanboy hope and delusion.

You may forgot, the we're gonna treat every console equal speech.

"To maximise and spread our games to as many users as possible I think we have to go to multiformat - the Xbox 360, PS3 and also the PC as well.

"The Japanese market is very strong and back when we could concentrate on developing games for just one console, business was very good. But the one-console market is over," he said.

So, please don't accuse people of being fanboy, if you don't have any facts to support it.

I twill probably pain them that I'll buy LR and FXIII on PC. lol

Iremember rather fondly of FFXIII being labeled ps3 exclusive at the end of trailers. SE stated FFXIII would never be on 360 while hyping the game. SE also said they were going to attempt tapping out the PS3s power.

the first SO4 trailer said PS3.

SE said they were going mostly mp this gen.riiiiiiiggghhht.releases for 360-last remnant, IU, and soon SO4, FFXIII. PS3 releases-none to date, FFXIII,FF Versus in the future.

Where do they state it will never be on the 360?

Based on this everytime a game is canceled someone "Broke their word".

FF13 was exclusive when those trailers were out....

Not so much anymore.  Things change.

SE made the Multi-platform announcment after these games were long in development... once again, not a promise.

You seem to have a hard time seperating plans and promises.

If I say "I'm going to have a ham sandwhich today." and instead I have a turkey sandwhich...

I'm not breaking a promise to anyone.  I'm having a different sandwhich.

I don't see any promises in there.  Do you see a "We promise" in there?

I see a general gameplan.

Gameplans can change and it's not "breaking a promise."

It's changing a plan.

Promises =/= Plans.

Now if they said "We promise" to do this....

This is just a Sony fanboy that is bitter.

Nothing more.

@dib
i too, like the OP was emotionally wounded by the one gaming company i used to idolize. While i get what u r saying, u cant tell me to stop being offended and betrayed by this, such is my right. i have the right to point out this obvious injustice to the PS3 community . As a future game designer the idea of doing what SE has done to their fans and their oldest ally....sickening.

Square Enid was suffering when FFXII released//I knew the company was going downhill from there//considering that game was lackluster//the creator of the series left the company//Tetsuya Noruma not focusing on the Kingdom Heart series like he should, Wada has him focusing on a spin off "Final Fantasy vs. XIII"//it made Nourma do handheld spinoffs//lol//Wada is in the talks on purchasing Eidos too to stregthen there western appearence!!!//OMG//so much is happening to them!

@Kasz
if i tell u im gonna pick up groceries for dinner, to prepare i set the tabe, u come home empty handed. That makes u a liar.Promise is just a statement validating future actions. they dont have to start with "i promise..."

this holds the same way in the court of law,"word is bond".

Games like IU, Tov (not SE), TLR, SO4 will sell at least 3x more in Japan and slightly more in Europe if they become multiplat. Is it a good decisoon for making FFXIII multiplat as X360 has more userbase US and some other countries but why not TLR, IU and SO4. Delaying TLR will hurt its potential as no one care when PS3 ver comes out (just look at Bioshock and Eternal Sonata sales). Or why don't just make them multiplat in Japan only just like FFXIII become Jpn exclusive. WKC already showing that PS3 can sell JRPG. This game already selling 330k In Japan alone despite has low score from Famitsu (i think 29/40). That is 2-3X more tham any X360 jrpg exclusive.

Getting greedy swimming in the pool of cash M$ gave them is their downfall.
Most of the hardcore SE fans are on PS3.

Well, if they bought a PS3 before confirming word on what console games would be on, that is close to being beyond stupid.  It shows how inanely presumptive people would be.   Why would a hardcore SE fan buy the most expensive game system on the market, if it doesn't have any SE games for it?

Can you answer why?  Shouldn't we go back even further and say the real downfall for Square is their abandoning Nintendo for Sony?  After all, wasn't Square just a Nintendo RPG maker?  So, to make things right, Square should only release games on Nintendo systems, right?

Can someone answer me why ANY JRPG fan would buy a PS3 now?  I said JRPG, not just an RPG.  WRPG and SRPG titles are on the PS3.

The PlayStation brand has always been known for its RPGs, Square might've started with Nintendo, but look at how their fanbase drastically changed once they released FFVII on the PlayStation.Not to mention that the main reason the PS2 won the last 'console war' is because of it's huge library of RPGs. And finally a big RPG is coming to the PS3(WhiteKnightChronicles) and on it's first week it swept the sales  of virtually every RPG on the 360, and that's just in Japan, I can't wait to see how well it will do when it's released stateside and in the EU. Now I'm not saying that SE should pick the PS3 exclusively, I'm just saying it was an error to lay RPGs on the machine that Halo built.

Not saying you shouldn't I'm just advising against it.

In the above cases as examples and in this case, you have those freedoms, especially on the internet, but there is always a cost. If your willing to become so emotionally involved in such a trivial pursuit, ignoring the embrace of self dicipline may prove your detriment; looking back you may even wonder "why?", that's probably worse than the 'betrayal' itself; you could see this as you betraying yourself... or you could blame SquareEnix or whatever takes their place later on again, and again and again.

This OP is only an explosion of pathetic reactions and misery does love company.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.
