example: carry two weapons like Halo 3, Resistance 2 & Killzone 2 or a full set of weapons like Doom 3, Serios Sam and Prey .... and why ?
for me i like to carry two weapons only because its make the game more Challenging and more fun to play.

I like how Resisntace was were you could have all kinds of cool weapons for different situations. Kinda like a FPS megaman almost.

limited weapons. It makes you choose. Not like Unreal Tournament, where you just carried everything...
@ kylie: seriously, you sure know how to make it sound like a bad choice to limit guns in a game. In most games where you can carry all weapons, ammo for the "better weapons" is scarce anyway, which amounts to the same thing.
Space and weight limits are my preference, like in STALKER.
A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.
Both are kind of silly ... Either you end up being limited to carying around 2 pistols for some arbitrary reason or (somehow) your character has the ability to carry hundreds of pounds of weapons and ammo without any consequences.

yea, but you can save the ammo. You may not want to take up 1 of your 2 spots with a gun with 1 round though.
Anyways, I prefer to carry all my guns rather than having to toss something.

why?
I use my badass weapons more.
If i'm playing "All weapons" I just use my regular weapons until i get to a really hard scene.
Of course i'm the type of person that refuses to use special powers on anything but bosses in Megaman and never uses healing potions either.

@ nordlead: well, that's why you have to make choices. I doubt you would just go "let's take the machine gun, the pistol, the rifle, the rocket launcher ... and those 17 grenades with me".
Perhaps having 2 and nades is tad low, since most people would be able to balance a pistol, a machine gun and a rifle probably, but carrying shitloads because you otherwise "feel forced" is a weird excuse imho.
They both have their uses I'd say. I'd say the Half-Life series is still good despite being able to carry everything just as the Call of Duty series is still good while only being able to carry two weapons.
