They have given 5 in 15 years (Ocarina of time, Gran Turismo, Half-Life 2, Halo, Mario 64).
I think they have only given three 9/10s so far this year.
Other review for Heavenly Sword ,the Official Playstation Magazine of Germany gives it a 8.9 .Apparently the game is great(after their opinion at least ) but too short ...some 6 hours to finish it .
That's going to hurt Bioshock on the tracking websites.
I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

At least someone is fighting against ratings inflation. An 8 should be considered a very good score and 9+ should only be reserved for one or two games a year.
I haven't trusted EDGE for years. I can imagine (just) why Bioshock *could* get an 8 - they must have balls though, it hasn't scored 9 or under *ever* yet. That review alone could cost it a spot in the top 10 "best games ever" (gamerankings).
As for Warhawk, I haven't played it and don't know that much about it. I imagine it could be excellent for what it is - an online, multiplayer, team-based war/action/shooter(?).
I am definitely considering picking up Heroes of Mana - it seems my type of game.

No, it's not. I just wanted to fit in, given all the people around here who seem to think there is a game-reviewer conspiracy theory against their favorite console.
But 8/10 for BioShock, damn that's a low score. BioShock is currently tied with Metroid Prime for third all time at 96.3%, but as of now it doesn't have *any* reviews below 90. That 80 is really going to drag it down...

Any magazine that gives a 8 for Bioshock, I don't trust.
And Ishy is right, Edge is unexceptionally tough on reviews.

Thats excatly why i do trust edges scores. Those five games IMHO are just about the only games that deserve a score of 10/10 anyway. They are near perfect.
There are far to many 9/10 and 10/10 scores thrown around these days and its nice to see edge not give into hype like 9/10 (:P) magazines these days

I've always trusted edge reviews in the past but like all sites/mags your not gonna agree 100%.
Ive just been on Bioshock for the last 2hrs and i not as blown away with the 10/10s it was first receiving. very good game so far but far from a perfect score imo. I must admit im not a huge fps fan, my favs in the past were doom, goldeneye and halo.
