This has happened to me countless times over the years, I have dreams about the games I've been playing. Sometimes it's basic shit like strategies but other times it all out nightmare material. Fumbling with a reload as some zombies or Locusts are closing in or a bomb going off in my grill, lol. About a week ago my youngest son woke up and told me he was just dreaming of having an energy sword battle with an alien. Not to mention I've heard both of my kids talking in their sleep about tripple kills and overkills. That got me to thinking about asking this community to share some of their video game related dreams. So let er rip.

I've had the tetris effect many times.

I also had a really weird one. I had a visor like Samus' in that, by pressing minus on a Wii remote I was carrying, I could change mods by moving the cursor to corners of my vision like in MP3. (Note: I haven't played MP3 since Galaxy came out.) But it wasn't on a TV, it was my own vision. So I come to this locked door, with a power up inside behind a reception desk. I want to scan the power up to see what it is, but I can't change the mod. It suddenly switches back to combat visor every time I try and change it to scan visor. Now, I can switch out of this dream, and into a lucid dream, where I scan it. But then I am controlling everything so I only get the description for what my conscious mind thinks the power up is, and not what it really is. (This is my logic in the dream.) So now I run into my mother, inside the game (don't tell Freud) and explain to her what's happening, but she has no help. Then I get the idea, that maybe if I use the "see through walls visor" I can find a hidden lock sequence to open the door, collect the power up and find out what it is that way. But I can switch into that visor anywhere as long as I am not near the reception desk. Finally, I break down and check a walk through, using the computer at the reception desk (even though that computer is inside the game world) and apparently it's called "grab claw". I have no memory of any dream after that.

Usually the dreams I have help me when I'm stuck on a game, and have no clue what to do next. I somehow dream of a possible solution/strategy and then try it out. It doesn't work all the time, but eventually it helps me get unstuck, and continue on.

one time my friends and i stayed up till like 5 am playing l4d.and all 4 of us had nightmares of zombie attacks.and another dream with me and kasumi that i cant talk about :p

Yeah Left 4 Dead got me a few times too.

When I used to play PSO like it was crack, I had the same crazy dream a couple of times.

I'm running around as my FOnewearl dressed in pink and purple. Massive monsters are chasing me as I try and run away from them, casting Gizonde. For some reason it doesn't hurt them like it normally does. I keep tripping as I run and I can't outrun them. They catch up as I fall and I fear my demise, but then I wake up.

I've also had the same type of dream with my Grandmother chasing me. She's chasing me because she wants to give me a spanking for doing something bad. For some reason she's so freaken fast and I can't outrun her. Finally she catches up to me and beats my ass. Normally I would wake up before she hits me, but one time I actually said "Fuck it, she's going to catch up to me anyways" So I slowed down and started walking and let her catch up to me. She caught up to me and when she hit me I actually felt it. That shit hurt. Another time, I decided not to even run at all. I was thinking like how dogs would think. Maybe if I don't run she won't chase after me. I was wrong she still beat me.

If your wondering if my Grandmother ever  beat me in real life, she hasn't. I hardly knew her.

It's kind of rare, but when they do occur, mine are pretty boring. I'll just dream about playing a game that I've been playing a lot lately. Like when I was pouring many hours a day into Fallout 3, I was dreaming about V.A.T.S. all night.

When i was a kid i had a Metroid 2: The return of Samus nightmare. I was her playing in SR388 killing Zeta Metroids, when i found an area that was very different full of toxic fumes. I cleared the way with my spazer and i noticed at the edge of the screen an omega metroid. (The whole dream was presented in 2d Gameboy vision.) I popped my missiles and prepared to fight, when i noticed there was a glitch in the remaining Metroid counter that began to rise incontrollably. As i draw nearer the air suspendind Omega, suddenly it grew gigantic (With complete scaling out of the screen and mode 7 effect.) and absorbed me. Then the omega spitted me out in morph ball mode, with the armor cracking like an egg, leaving behind an energy unit flickering. As the energy dissipated, a voice was heared: "Samus is alive.."

Brrrrrrr....Thank god i finished the game the next day.
