I prefer Valkyria, but that's because it's the very top of the SRPG genre, without anything else coming close, while Vesperia does have competition among other great action JRPG.

Both are certainly great games.

that does not make any sense.yes valkyria is one of a kind but i can hardly think of any other action rpg that can match tales of vesperia's action-packness.Can you?

star ocean 3

Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2

Just saying, it's battle system mechanics are nothing new. They at least appear to be a direct rip off of the star ocean series.

So, you really haven't ever played a Tales game have you? That last sentence was utter, complete fail.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

my friend I will explain to you why you are wrong

First:Tales came out before star ocean.check it out yourself.

Second:the makers of star ocean originally came from the tales team.they were together originally called the wolfteam.Again go check it out yourself at wikipedia.com

it doesnt really matter which came out first. you cannot tell me that tales' battle system doesnt look awfully similar to star ocean's. and i already said ive never played ToV, but i played one of them on ps1 years ago. i really hated that 1, it was on a 2D plane in battles.

Oh wow. please do some research cloud, this is embarassing.

Yes it does matter which one came out first, you said Tales ripped off SO, no it was the other way around. It may look similar, but thats not what we are disproving here. Also, the Tales on the PS1 =/= Tales on the 360, or this gen, or whatever. It is no longer a linear fighting field in Tales games.

-_-

they look alike because they are the same people.the people who made star ocean games use too make the tales games.

i never said that the system was bad! i love star ocean's batyle system! to liken tale's to it is a compliment.

and i know you said tales came first,(which u might need to check which came first:SO2 or tales when they had that system) but really, who cares? so what if i was wrong about that, that wasnt the point. Point is the battle systems are very much alike.

i also didnt claim that the battle system was still on a 2D plane. I just stated my distaste for that style and consequently my first experience with a tales game.
