Forums - Sales - wii's 3rd party lack of success...could it be an isse on the long run?

lack of success? more like lack of offerings.

even from nintendo themselves... lack of wii offerings.

wait a few months, and then this becomes a more legitimate question.

ok, but why devs are not supporting it like PS3? Wii will have 3X the user base by the end of the year but still devs are looking to PS3...how do you explain this?

2008 year end sales (made in January 2008):

44.2 M 27.1 M 20.8 M

Inertia and underestimation of the Wii's power.

Obviously inertia fades as studios realize PS3 is not giving them big returns, and underestimation will fade as impressive first-party titles show how good games on it could be.

Do I need to find the gif of the guy shoving his own head up his wazoo? (The Devs and Pubs not you)

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

Double post deleted.

Because what devs devop and announced til know, was decided before everybody knew how successful the Wii is. And devs don't decide that much on their own. The publisher do decide in most cases what will be developed, and those need time for change.

I'm seriously thinking of writing up a form letter response to these threads. I've only been on this board a few weeks and I'm getting sick of them.

Nope, 3rs partys where caught of gaurd by wii's sucess and rushed out alot of games. But now they have cut back on ps3 dev and given wii dev heaps more resources. So great games will be coming.
3rd partys are always gonna give the most attention to the console with highest user base.

"Most popular"? Well it's not sales figures, because most of them haven't been released. As for sales figures, just look at this week's VGChartz software charts. In Japan, for instance, Nintendo has sold more than five times as many units as any other software company. The charts are full of Nintendo-developed DS and Wii games.

What lack of succes are we talking about? The crappy sales of bad ports?

Becuase:
Trauma Center is the best selling Atlus game in USA ever.
Cooking Mama has more or less put Majeseco in black again
Red Steel and Rayman has sold more than 1 million units each
RE4: Wii edition is on its way to pass the expetation from Capcom.

Are we talking Boogie here or what?
